August 5th - DL 3 sets of 3, not using straps at all!
05.08.2026
DL advice from July 31st: FORCE THE SPEED through your sticking point, move quickly past knees, do not slow down on the lockout!

So, it's the 5th today. The back tweak from the last workout only lasted for about a day, thanks to all the walking I've been doing.
I was really nervous yesterday, a mess in my head. I have to go and try to solve "the issue" once again, and yesterday I was all jerking around and I finally prepared all the documents. I know exactly what the issue is - I'm afraid of failing. It's a thing on a visceral level, my body, not wrangled. Nerves burning down. I stay too nervous for too long and I can't do anything. BUT sometimes I can. Sometimes I can!
And right now it's the evening time. I'm in between all sorts of strange moods. BUT I feel good. I feel alright, more or less. My head, it's been a mess, and it's still a mess. But I love how on rest days this training week I'd always go somewhere. Two rest days, went somewhere two times. And I know I need to stop thinking. I'm not afraid of going "there" because there is no expectations of win/success, and I am afraid of going and trying to solve my issue because it'll turn out that I once again have gone somewhere wrong or people are just not willing to help me. That really ties me down... BUT I know that when I have a nice rest day and I have nothing to do - then I will go and do what I need, because I have everything prepared. I need to unclench my mind from the superstitions of failure.
And today it's deadlift again. Triples. Hopefully not using straps - or rather minimal strap use, because the scar healed partially. If I can find a nice plaster it should be no issue. And the volume today is not going to be very high either.
Been struggling with writing - but I feel SOMETHING coming up. Hallelujah!

Workout
Warmup - just doing some weird dancing and thigh-squeezer as I put on deadlifting clothing
Deadlift
20 for 12+
70 for 5 - MIXED GRIP. Never considered doing it this way - but I do believe it should make it better for overall grip!
120 for 5
160 for 5
203 for 3
This is where I took a break to finally write again 😀
233 for 3 nice, still MIXED GRIP
263 for 3 - lovely! Overhyped, writing, not easy I admit. Took breaks and re-chalked between every rep BUT it was fast enough. On the third rep I had my right (overhand) hand failing 🤔
263 for 3 - alright! Better, for both deadlift AND grip. I don't think I've done this much mixed grip tonnage since probably 2023! Noticed that now the LEFT side is sliding off lol. Pushed it back in...
265,5 for 3 - lovely! Easy for my back but hard for my hands - well, my skin 😁
Reached a great feeling of satisfaction, dancing, grooving, feels so good! I was considering doing more but settled on what I promised myself - 3 sets of 3. AND it is low volume - but not for my hands 😁 For my hands it is a small PR!
160 - a set of messy silly stiff leg DLs
70 for 15 - Romanian short range DL onto the pillows - bar far away from the knee, eventually feelign the muscle
70 for 15 more - interesting movement
Alright! Thank God for this workout! Hallelujah, truly and forever!
Guess what though? I think I'll do some OHP tomorrow. I'll really have to focus on getting my arms right though. BUT an interesting thing I discovered - I should under no circumstance trust the car's back window reflection lol. Because it's crooked as heck. I do have an unevenness BUT it presents an unevenness that I don't actually have. So I must simply ignore it, or put a flat mirror there. Tomorrow - again technically today... I wish I *COULD* have nice workouts during the day but probably not in Summer 😢
