July 6th and 7th - Warmup day and Bench up to 148x6

 06.07.2026

A warmup day - wall pushups, parallettes, then mostly lower body static-dynamic efforts and stretching, learning to kneel and squat down low, trying to even out the differences between legs, some balance work as well as foot training - strengthening toes and squat variations on balls of feet, all the while reading/listening to Penrod as narrated by Jonathan Burchard 😁

Not too much stuff, not too much pain, just enough to feel like I've done something.

Okay, so I'm supposed to have some rather heavy DL TOMORROW... Interesting.

NGL the last few days were really nice for me, in a certain way. On July 1st I got "distracted" - so annoying, and since then I haven't been at all. I'm really hoping God can help me stop it forever. Not only that, but my mind has been rather clear and pure. And it's extra annoying cause July 1st was generally a very good day, a happy one even - I guess that's what happens when you loosen the grip on yourself in a lot of small ways.

So, what else... Ah, Bench. Also, yesterday at night I managed to start progressing in chapter 8 chunk 2-3... I fear this chapter 8 - which in RW3 was chapter 6 - it might have to be split into two chapters.

I've been a little annoyed with r/destructivereaders... As it happens, I started to participate in their community, like I used to back in the day in ESO guilds and various twitch chats, got drawn in. I'm a huge anti-AI in creativity, highly suspicious.

Had one conventional, did some editing and writing - kinda hyped a little bit! Had another conventional, 30/360.

Workout

Warmup - wall pushups, very gentle wrist stretches via shaking while pushing, parallettes - mostly pushup variations, static-dynamic bounce stretches for a hundred micro reps 😁

Bench press

20 - 40 - 60

70 - 90 - 100

Somehow I settled on doing sixes today. Weird! I think I wanna see how hard/easy 150 will be.

120 for 6 very nice, Spoto press

140 for 6 - harder than I expected, as usual, a lot of contrast between this and 120! But also I was experimenting with taking an uneven grip lol. Let's work on making this one better rather than go for 150.

145,5 for 6 - much better, although not great. I think I might be using Spoto press to cheat semi-unconsciously... Let me try and make it a little different. Lower, stricter pause, more powerful reversal of force.

145,5 for 6 - very nice and powerful! I am growing stronger even though I've been focusing on Pushpress.

148 for 6 - nice, even better. I kinda wish I did go for something heavier 😁

Accessory work

100 - partial reps in the lockout and in the middle

70 - partial reps, upper pec stretching with raised elbow - almost hurt myself there for a moment, silly

20 - trying to figure out a way to hold the bar without swaying all over... Didn't use to be such a problem when I was younger for some reason. Need to work on it! Interesting fact though - I think I did get significantly better at holding the weight overhead in a balanced manner, so I'd like to hope it's all just a matter of balancing muscles or however you call them, I forgot.

Some hopping around with one leg, holding onto the bar so my lats got a little pumped too - my right leg is better.

One arm press

21 kg dumbbell - 3 partial presses and one full range press - three of these series, so 12 reps overall. 2 sets of that

I wish I filmed some of my sets today. I got too used to working out and filming and then re-analysing everything afterwards. It's a lot of fun, a great way to cement it in your head, focus on the things that matter. I had very good speed and breath control on 148 today. And I was using a pinky-width grip, not wider. Small detail.

I should be looking forward to DL. It'll be hard, quite possibly! BUT it won't be a maxout or anything I haven't done before 😁 It'll all be about working the groove, you know. Just a reminder for my body 😉

I've been mostly on a meat diet, i.e. a breakfast diet in the last few days - no forced carbs. I think I prefer it, as does my digestive system. Just meat, eggs, fruits and veggies, occasional bread or sugar, some milk.
