May 26th - some OHP, light Squat, failed PP - exhausted, stuck in a recovery loop

 26.05.2026

Nice day. Ended up falling asleep rather soon after last night's DL, slept for four hours, woke up physically nervous, overstimulated by every tiniest sound. Managed to calm down after a while, especially after remembering that interesting quote I got presented with on https://dailyverses.net/random-bible-verse ... Let me find it on my phone...

"For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death."

2 Corinthians 7:10

I had an appliance malfunctioning and I kept wondering to myself whether or not I should worry or do something given that I know that it tends to fix itself... and I DID do something, as in take out the more important produce and put it in the other fridge. Then I remembered this verse above and calmed down. Thank God!

So, it's super late, as it tends to be. I was kinda hoping I switched to daytime with that early wakeup but no - I ended up getting knocked out later. I think my CNS needs more focus. I've been having more than salmonella, you know, been having a tiny cold caused by all that heat and sudden temperature drops.

Workout

Warmup - some, not excessive - just presses, some overhead stretching... forgot L-flys

Overhead press, Squat and later Pushpress

20 - 40 - 70

70 for 5

70 - some squat, warming up - doing series of reps increasing the range. Knee feels almost okay - not gonna go heavy in squat today, but have to do something.

Tried using downstairs CD player but apparently I forgot it can't play CDs anymore.

93 for 15 - cheesy OHP 😁 I had fun. I kinda wanted to do 20 but guess what? I think I'm actually not too far from doing 20, just need some conditioning.

93 for 3 - squat

70 for 1 pushpress

70 for 3 squat

Not feeling great in my forearms here; my wrist extenders on the right forearm keep hurting.

110 - unracked it, too much pain. I realized I'm plainly exhausted again - feeling struck, limb shaking. That happens!

I'm stuck in a post-illness psychological loop. Mostly in DL and OHP lifts. I wanna recover as quickly as possible and I'm trying to do it too quickly so I'm not recovering as quickly as possible.

I have some plans. Today was a somewhat light workout, so I think I should be able to Bench tomorrow. Then a rest day, then another overhead day, then I think I'll have a rest day after all, and DL on Sunday if all goes well.

Decided not to take off my weightlifting shoes right away.

Squat

2 sets of 10 with a PVC pipe - it changes a lot in terms of angles

I'm so glad now I decided to wait a day for my DL yesterday...

I have a suspicion that my recovery is really really subpar. Not necessarily bad, but way worse than I think it is.

I need to eat better and regularly. Right now my eating is little and rather irregular, although I am not complaining about the quality of the things I make for myself.
