May 22nd - Relatively nice PP, some rehab work, stretching intentions
22.05.2026
Note to self: consider trying dips. Chinese weightlifters do them, and old time Olympic weightlifters used them too. Why not? Maybe it'll work the things I'm lacking.
Same about lats - pullups, rows, wide grip. They do them too. Why? Probably for a reason.
This is the video that made me think about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bS-9iq-o9-s
Also, I should not be concerned with wrists on PP being "severely" bent back - that's normal.

Evening time. Managing to write, not liking weather much - too hot in my room! Had one instant coffee, one nice conventional arabica 35/420, and another instant cup as I read "The Big Sleep". It's not really cop propaganda, is it? But it sure is a load of power and luxury fantasies, I tell you, heh heh.
Me, I've been thinking really hard. You have to WORK OUT a LOT in order to have a GOOD session. You can manage your recovery, be satisfied with everything, especially when you get your nutrition and sleep disciplined. BUT even if you're good at everything you'll STILL have OUTSTANDING sessions - NOT ALL sessions would be the same! You have to fail, to fail really hard if you want to succeed. You pretty much CANNOT do ANYTHING BIG without FAILING first! Because your legs are not used to running up the hill. You fail, you learn something new, you try again, repeat or maybe win! You CANNOT do ANYTHING BIG without FAILING FIRST. That's a life lesson, a real piece of wisdom for you.
I've really enjoyed the first episode of chapter 7 rw4. I don't really need to keep saying it's rw4, even though there was a time when I was simultaneously writing rw3 and rw4 lol. No, I'm working on RW4 and it's a reminder for **me** more so than the reader.
Then, before yesterday - I wrote the rest of chapter 7 - and after a while I discarded it. Cause I was not in the right mood!
Yesterday I feel asleep almost feverish, thinking, buzzing, formulating. The hot weather is not helpful.
Yes, I fucking admit it. The first ever version of Marco was an AID-style DnD gameplay with a homebrewed S.P.E.C.I.A.L. RPG system. I wrote about it before. I am ashamed of it, but it's become a different thing, different in every single way. I need to relax. It's akin to me being worried about hearing ai music and then being worried it'd influence my own composing/songwriting.
I've been playing guitar a little bit, just the tiniest bit, practicing alternating fingerpicking on the tiny classical, just practicing my old arpeggio melody-exercise on the electric, on my old SG. It gives me nostalgia when I look at it, heh.

Found an old video with a mental cue that I think helped me as far as 2023.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/f2kowl7Ngxw By Alexander Bromley. He's one of the "least bad ones". Smart guy, has a good mental grip on the sport. Focus on your elbows, your tricep, really "punch out" - that makes sense.
I don't need a super good front rack on PP. It's PP, not jerk. But I need a good one.
Volume managing. That's what I'll tonight.

Workout
Warmup - moderate, some overhead stretches with rubber and a 7 kg bar, some squat shoulder stretches with the bar, some supported jumps and very gentle leg warmups, squats.
Overhead press
20 - 40 - 50 mixed with
Push press
70 - 80
90 for 2 - my knee is feeling a little overstretched since yesterday. I forgot to mention - I did quite some kneeling stretches, foot and ankle and calf, knee and hamstring. It felt good but I think I went just a millimeter too far.
95 for 2
100 for 2 - not bad. I am managing a nice front rack, but the back of my forearm is hurting a lot. The secret is ALLOWING my TORSO to become a "SPRING RESSORT" on its own - unlike in OHP, where you're ideally supposed to join your torso and legs into a single "spring".
100 for 2 - really nice! I really, really liked the front rack in between these two reps! 😀 Drinking water, swallered three big cups like nothing. Tea is too hot.
110 for 2 nice, very good
110 for 2 not as great but not any kind of serious stumbling. I wore a kneewrap on my right knee here - might not have been the best idea
110 for 2 feels nice. A little disappointed after watching the video - the grip on the bar is uneven! But the middle of the bar is in the middle of my body, which is interesting.
We'll take it slow. No panicking, no nothing. Next time I'm doing pushpress everything will be done better. The good thing today is that the front rack was very solid, despite apparent unevenness. Hallelujah!
The temporary goal is to work up to 8 sets of 3 with a nice enough weight and technique by the end of June.
Squat
70 for 5
70 for 4 - had to stop on 4 cause the stretched tissue in the knee was acting up.
On Squat I did a lot of shoulder stretching and just held the bar on my back, feeling my right arm. It's a narrow-ish grip super high bar squat.
My right arm is internally rotated very much. Simple as that. The fact that I can't bend it fully is a separate issue - not very problematic. But this internal rotation needs to be dealt with.
I simply need to do a lot of "lean forward" stretches - leaning forward onto the bar in the rack and then rotating elbows under and in front of it.
My right hamstring, calf and foot have been making me happy, after just two intense stretching days. Yesterday was the third stretching day. I could try and do something similar to my arms and shoulders.
My pushpress today was not bad. I felt very good and interesting during it. And I wrote a good scene before the workout... But now I need to delve into my mind deeper. Remember more.
I drank a great lot of water and didn't have to pee at all. Over two liters. And that was a while ago. I'm usually insanely dehydrated and I'm not even paying attention to it.
It's interesting how nice I felt DURING PP but the video revealed I was uneven.
I just need to stretch out my arm well enough. I know I have what it takes.
RPotD - a real life location that is also present in FO76 😁 I know I'll probably play it this Summer as well.
