May 15th - Bench close to okay, more Rehab

 15.05.2026

I really blasted my ass with the one-legged deadlifts yesterday lol. A very unusual load, just one muscle head sore! Lats and shoulders sore too for some reason.

Re-watched Fargo last night, as I was doing my kneeling stretches. It's a pretty short movie. Nowadays I can't help but think there's some deeper propaganda within it. Not exactly sure what kind, how political. I'm just saying I'm distrustful of anyone these days.

Didn't manage to sleep on my bed backwards this time - my throat was closing up. Had to go back to normal. Changed my sheets, now I'm washing them.

I wanna do some Bench today. I feel rather fresh. I have strange ideas I'd like to try out, such as doing multiple warmup sets with the same small weight without making jumps before making a slightly-bigger-than-average jump.

I think I'm supposed to do sets of five? That's reasonable. Do you remember how I was recently doing "compound sets of 10" (i.e. 5 + 5 without a break) with 140 and 150? I did it on... April 28th, wow! It felt so recent.

The other day I impulsively looked up an American Heritage Dictionary and purchased it even though it was too expensive. To go along with it I went ahead and bought an audio player and new PC headphones. Well, guess what? I should have bought something expensive. I again purchased a couple pieces of trash. The headphones have, like, one frequency in them and the player is very slow, bad ui, and doesn't see folders. So I decided to return them, except this time I think I'll take a walk to the pickup point so I don't have to make an order to return it with. Even though I still kinda want new headphones and a nice player, even though I kinda really don't need a player - but it is rather inconvenient to use my phone. I've pretty much moved on to my new phone, but I still can use the old one, except it doesn't have a working audio jack. Just broken! How come the Walkman was so good for so long, for 10+ years?

I'm having a proverbial headache cause things around me lack sense. BUT it's not a big deal, thusly the headache is proverbial. Also I wanna try doing the supine leg curls - hang from the bar with the rings, legs on a chair, curls your body forward.

I had one really nice 32/400 - it wasn't too thin, and now I'm having one cup of instant coffee.

I have a bunch of alternatives to the audio whatever. Heck, I could use my old laptop.

I forgot to mention. I ordered an illustrated vocabulary, and it was rather expensive, BUT they straight up canceled it for me, removed it from my order! I assumed it's because they don't have it, but the next day they put it back up at about 30% bigger price! And now it's down to 25% bigger price. What sense does it make? I kinda wanna consider buying the Webster dictionary even though it's kinda too expensive as well.

And I don't need it whatsoever, it was a whim. But kinda funny how they didn't allow me to buy it at the initial price, which was kinda big anyway. I hope it's not because of sheer greed but just cause they had it in the store for a bigger price or some stuff like that and they forgot to change it online.

Warmup - wall pushups, pushup planks, 50 pushups

Workout

Bench press

20 - 40 - 60

70 - 3 sets of 5

100 - 3 sets of 5

120 - 3 sets of 5 - feels okay, better in the end

150 - 2 sets of 4 - ngl I was kinda rushing. I was alone for over ten days and now the house is a mess. It would have taken me out of self a lot more but I feel more or less calm, Thank God! So I'm kinda multitasking and not even going upstairs for a break. These two sets were rather close together. First one was messy, it felt just a little too hard. Second - better, in control, CNS activated. Now I wanna see how the third one feels.

150 for 4 and one more rep after a short break - I felt better on this set but I am again rushing, not having built up energy for Bench press. I'll have to ease it and not lift more than 140-something for a while. Could go for some reppage too! That'll go well with some OHP work as well as eased load from DL.

Some peculiar hip movements and stretches, working on muscle control, rehab - lower body

Squats - 2 sets of 10 slow and controlled, just moving rather than getting them done, if that makes sense

Kneeling stretches / static holds - 2 sets (possibly more). Focusing on stretching the big toe tendon and working on overall foot strength and flexibility, as well as flexing calves and hamstrings on opportunity

RPotD - Plum flowers
