April 17th - All around light-medium session - Bench, Dumbbells curl and press, Barbell Squat

"If only one had a bite to eat on such a clear day! Overwhelmed by the impression

of the happy morning, I experienced an irrepressible sense of well-being and

started humming for joy for no particular reason."

I was thinking how a lot of "literary" (I'm starting to hate this word) books just drag things down, keep things amuck for no reason and decided to confirm my bias and check Knut Hamsun's "Hunger". I was so pleasantly surprised to find this mirroring of nearly my exact thoughts there. It's as if I received an impression from reading before reading.

I've accidentally grown intensely emotional and over-reactive. More than usual. I am not certain where the origin of that lies. Perhaps it's me engaging with all the literary critique places and people there. Perhaps it's the fact that I DLed 300 and I have some unconscious expectations. Perhaps it's something else - I had something more certain but I forgot. Ah, yes, I was wondering if it's somehow from all the music I'm listening to nonstop. Perhaps all that music moistens and softens my emotional core in a way that I'm not used to. But I really wanna keep listening to stuff, anything. Temporary addiction! Well, not anything, I wanna listen to the stuff I've been listening to. Dawn Of Winter, December Dawn, Faith (Swedish, I think), Pilgrim. Dawn Of Winter and Pilgrim - them I liked and listened to since 2013-14.  "All Souls' Day" is also a pretty epic band.

The chapter 1 of Marco, Michigander Marco. It made me so strangely happy. It made me feel connected to who I am. I can still feel it. It's, I guess, somewhat comparable to my delirium in July 2023 that I tried to stretch out for so long. I wish you could feel it, feel how intense it is. It's comparable in intensity but not overall "tone". I feel born again, like I have my power again. Back in July 2023 I felt like I can see again, see out of the darkness, out of the cave and it excited me endlessly. I still had one of the worst crises of my life ahead of me. And in December it sort of calmed down. I kicked myself around and calmed down.

It's pretty late, almost 11 PM. I wanted to work out, I'm kind of a mess. I ordered takeout but forgot to change my phone number, so I didn't pick it up, first time it ever happened. It was a pretty impulsive order.

I have no idea what exactly I wanna do - but I'm getting some ideas. Should be fun!

Workout

Warmup - some, wall pushups, floor planks

Bench press

20 - 40 - 60 - feels okay, kinda nice to warm up like that, some prehab-like work

90 - 100 - 100 - sets of 10. The last set here started to feel so nice and easy I wanted to maybe do more. BUT I'm gonna stick with the other stuff. I wanna do the other stuff.

Step-ups - single step, then two steps, both alternating legs and one leg at a time

Curl and press (each rep)

2 kg dbs, then 6 kg dbs for 2 sets

I feel like this kind of a double-compound exercise is the missing key for "all around" strength, for your ability to actually use your CNS outside of the gym!

21,5 and 21,8 - 2 sets of 10 - nice and easy, very fluid!

Step ups - another set. I should try to walk on my toes to help rehab my foot.

Squat

10 BW

From here on it's only sets of 5.

20 - 40 - 50 - 60 - 70 - 90 - 100 - 110 - 120

I wore wraps on the last 4 sets. It felt okay. Some pain afterwards, nothing intolerable or alarming. More of a 'nociception', you could say. It's alright to work through some pain - you just gotta know the limit and stay a couple steps away from it. The limit of your current injury, what kind of state it's in.
