December 31st - DL 260 for 4 sets of 5

 31.12.2025

Fallout 3 is underrated. NV was underrated when it came out, and now it's overrated, shameful. It's still my personal top rated game. The franchise, meanwhile, is getting overraped with the tv show.

So, it's a typical DL day. My body is aware of the fact that I'll be deadlifting, so I'm going insane with rage again. BUT I'm in control, it's BETTER than it used to be. I am mindful.

I enjoyed some reading. Had two batches of conventional 37/444 and 35/420, and now one final chaser, a cup on instant coffee. A little too much!

I have 4 sets of 5 with 260 planned. Should be doable! I slept very well and I ate decently, although at this point it's been a while. Nothing is stopping me from eating a little bit right now... Hm.

Managed to write 800 words, a whole half-scene, real happy.

Workout

20 - 70 - 120 - 160

200 for 4 and a half - it's five; I've done the 4th over my knees, just a technical mishap. OHG. Feels good.

233 for 5 - two reps mixed grip, three straps. Arms are pretty tight right now and they don't stay perpendicular to gravity, the left arm with the underhand grip in particular. Focusing on speedy pull now, not being lazy past knees. I was lazy on the third rep, slowed down but I remembered a youtube short from Matt Vena. I despise Matt Vena for being a typical "powerlifter" but that was a good training advice - to always be fast, pull and squat and such quickly. I've gotten lazy last time because I wasn't focused, did not expect the deadlift in general, my body was unaware of it and it took some real shitty sets for me to warm up my mind and that was not pleasant. The amount of rage and irritation that came up to the surface was pretty overwhelming. Today, on the other hand, I had an opportunity to let some of it out early.

260,5 for 5 - nice, powerful set, done speedy, especially the first rep - it flew real well when I inflated myself

260,5 for 5 - nice, pretty powerful as well although I had to stand up to fix my grip and I didn't feel very bouncy

260,5 for 5 - a really nice set😃 Better than all the previous once, really bouncy with my air (meaning that it started off the floor easy, not that I did touch and go 😁) Also I fixed the plates before the set, evened them out. Feels good, so good, just at the right time 😀

My left hip though, it's either hurting or cramping.

I've come to conclude that my new crocs I've had possibly contributed to my friggin ankle injury. Their sole is too thick! I've twisted my ankle 4 times - early October when I cut it, early and mid November, early December. I was in these crocs the first three times. I feel way more stable in my old worn out crocs that barely have a sole. Thick sole isn't bad, but you can roll your ankle. I think I'll be using my old crocs more. Maybe I'll try one of these leather Muslim socks, they seem like a nice option for when you need convenience and you can't be bothered wearing footwear.

Can report with certainty - left hip is cramping, it's not the joint lol.

260,5 for 5 - lovely, so good and fast 😃 Somehow I didn't film it, cause I reset the video recording 🤦‍♂️I miss head banging against wall emoji from my old forum 😁

Pinching, grip training - a lot of it! 20 kg plates, blue ones, metal ones - some holds and partial hand-lifts - pinching with one hand and helping with the other with two or three fingers, some passes; pinched a hub on one of these blue 20s - I can still do it 😀 Then 25+15 rubber coated ones - some long holds, passes from hand to hand.

Clean and Press

20 kg - 5 cleans then 10 presses - I sort of feel it, feel just what I need to feel, that explosiveness 🤔 BUT my L-flyers, the rotator muscles - they are thick and stiff like frozen rubber. I need to loosen them - but keep them elastic! I blame bench 😁 And, of course, forgetting to do L-flys (not flies!) more often.

"Flys" is the correct plural form if it's the exercise.

L-flys - 2 kg dbs, super long range - 40 reps; elbows high, at the top part, a tiny bit lower in the bottom; arms can go a little more extended in the bottom and a little sharper at the top but otherwise they should be kept around 90 degrees, just minimal changes for additional stretching

20 kg - 10 cleans then 10 or more presses, my abs starting to cramp up, real funny.

See, these old crocs of mine, when I try to roll them on their side I feel like I can't roll my ankle. Isn't that cool? I think those leather socks could be cool too, but they will, of course, get dirty quickly. Gotta train your feet. I feel so close to getting my healthy leg back, so close.
