November 28th, Saturday - DL 260 5 sets of 3

 29.11.2025

Nice day. Technically the 30th already.

I woke up at 1AM. I thought that was gonna be enough, I felt fairly energized but I ended up falling asleep during the day again and woke up late, just four hours of sleep and no new food - but I did eat a great lot earlier, some really stinky, nasty meat and cheap pasta smeared in lukewarm butter, just a bit of salt 😁 IK ate and ate til I could no longer; my body felt the threat. Still, after my first coffee I fell asleep.

Woke up, did some reading, another batch of ffocee, one cup of moka; my brewer is so bad, I think it unscrewed itself in the middle of the process. However, moka turned out alright!

Deadlift

20 for 20

70 for 8

120 for 8

160 for 5 OHG

200 for 3 mixed grip - break here

230 for 3

260,5 for 3 - very little break here 😮

260,5 for 3

260,5 for 3 - easy, that was another short break 😮

260,5 for 3

260,5 for 3 - same 😮

260,5 for 3 - feels good! 260 felt like a fairly light weight today, although I did ended having a smooth-slow lockout cause I never wore the belt tight today. I keep telling you, you should never wear it tight!

120 - 3 sets of 8 - stiff legged deadlift without touching the floor, did it all pretty fast and after a fairly short break from 260; first set I did with a wider grip - it pinched my fingertips quite so! Second - narrow grip, leaning forward a bit more throughout the move so that I don't scrape my thumbs against my legs; third set the freakiest - the same but underhand grip, really put some crazy pressure against the palm-side of my index finger bases 😁 That really, really pumped my forearms, especially cause I hurried cause it hurt a lot, each rep I had to curl my fingers up tighter so I don't drop it; feels pretty epic and made me feel quite shattered for a short while 😀

I took the stinky polyester wool undergarments I purchased recently and left them hanging outside; I hope that'll get rid of the sink. I've done a similar thing to a plastic box I bought, except that I left it open close to my radiator; now that I think about it I wanna move it away somewhere 😁

I'm really happy how little fatigue I experienced lifting 260 today. I'm in such a great deadlifting shape all of a sudden, that's what it feels like. Great - I guess I'd agree - but not the top shape 🤔 Close though!

I have been thinking about switching to doing cardio and climate training. When I was younger for a few years I've done some intuitive cold exposure; I just made sure to walk outside in the cold and didn't bother to try to stay "warm" while doing some interesting thing with my breath I can't quite explain; I guess you just really focus on your neck, nose and chest and make sure you don't let the air pass quickly, not until you're ready and your whole body and CNS have adjusted. It goes well with cardio and walking briskly; quite the genetic memory, I daresay.

I used to look down on this whole thing; I assumed it's one of those un-scientific folk things. I still have some of that in my heart, but I have been changing. I was a miserable wannabe rationalist in my early twenties, thinking I'm smarter than everyone. I do believe we swallow a lot of lies at face value, yes we do. And some of those values have double layers of disguise, pretending to be smart.

There are depths to us, to our humanity. We think we're just having fun, doing some random stuff while we might be solving a problem for ourself on another level - or causing it. Just an abstract example. Every training session affects so much more than my body. My life is a controlled fall, and every training session or anything resembling it is a step.

So yeah, I sort of looked down on climate tempering/hardening and all that cause it can be culty. But here, in the Motherland, that is a simple tradition. I have been re-reading the Sign Of The Hammer (Ragethunder) book. Not directly affiliated by Manowar, but inspired. Oldschool lifting wisdom bound in a ball of steel yarn that you'll have to pull apart with effort and knit yourself a metal sweater with the needles of your mind. Pull with spirit, weave with ratio, the mind, your intellect. A droplet of mysticism in this fleshy eye that thinks it can see itself. Woo, I'm soo wise! Well, I am writing something mystical.

I bought some oldschool taffies, I've been chewing them til the jaw parts on my head are burning nonstop, it's hilarious. Gotta give it to kids, just a little bit, alongside hard beef and chewing gum, let them develop their jaws properly so they don't end up like me. I can barely complain though, I admit, I only got one crooked tooth and I made my lower teeth crooked when I tried to use them to pull that tooth back in place when I was little. Now they're all swaying like an old fence, heh! Otherwise I haven't quite been in the mood to risk my dental stability even more and refused the offer to fix them. Maybe I'm dumb, eh? lol. Maybe I'm not. All I know is that I don't quite care about form so long as it doesn't interfere or affect function - which it probably does in one way or another... Whatever you do, eh? Anyway, that's how I think, backwards and circular, rarely straightforward. I wish I was in control. God, I'd like to believe, has been feeding me bits of this emotional wisdom recently; He let me stumble so I can learn to watch where I'm going. I almost freaked out today when I couldn't find my new jacket but I ended up wandering to my little brother's room where I was telling him to do his homework before yesterday, during that wacky OHP and writing session and found it right there on top of his bed. If he slept there I reckon he'd tell me about it, but that room's quite a mess. My room also was a mess; but I usually dealt with it by grabbing anything and everything and stuffing it into containers lol. I wasn't quite messy, unless I'm in the middle of something then I allow stuff to stay visible. That's a semi-decent way to remember to put it away; don't just drop it but it visibly, with purpose so you can claim you needed it, heh.

My waist under my stretchy woolen belt is totally getting chilled now, draft rising. I had it in my mind to take the tiniest nighttime walk, start it with throwing out the garbage, so much stuff. See if my ankle is better, the grape of wrath. Remember, I have to.

***

Took a little walk outside, threw out the trash. I didn't get a chance to do any long striding, but I think it's better. The ankle still has some swelling, not fully mobile, but, as it would make happy sense, it's getting better. Sometimes things don't always get better, like when you scab them. Maybe some of my rehab was scab-like. I hope not. Well, that one when I hurt myself was. Alas, I am a creature of passion; God, please give me wisdom.
