November 14th and 16th - a couple Light workouts

 14.11.2025

Nice day. I've been consolidating my ideas for the next chapter. It's the chapter 14 of what I dubbed "RW3" - "rewrite 3" - OF the first draft, lol. It's just the first draft! And I'm enjoying it. I wrote one and half scenes, 1100 words; as I mentioned many times before I'm a massive graphomaniac.

I read today for the first time in a few days, really enjoyed it too. And now it's 10 PM. My warmup got disrupted a little, earlier. Now it's a second warmup! I got hungry and ordered food impulsively and ate. Cause I didn't eat enough in the morning. Also I had one moka today, it turned out real nice, it's been months. It turned out nice EVEN THOUGH it was sputtering all the way, but all the water went through and made a whole nice-tasting cup. Strange! It didn't look or sound nice, but the coffee was nice.

Warmup

First one was mostly wall pushups and static holds, kneeling on the floor, pressing arms straight against floor, minimal angles in stretching

Second warmup - 2 sets of 30 wall pushups, feeling okay!

Bench press

20 and 40 for a lot of reps - feeling pretty stiff, unstable, but no indicators of anything particularly wrong

70 for about 10

100 for about 12 - lost count

110 for 10

120 for 10

125 for 10

130 for 10 - nice, powerful, I gotta admit I wasn't very much warmed up here. It's something! Also a very wide grip, and I'm making sure I'm moving fast up and down; when I think about it, I was in a pretty good groove, that felt like a real light weight!

And it was pretty cold downstairs. I have my warm new pants on an an old woolen scarf I found. I had it for years in my wardrobe, probably haven't worn it since 2009.

And that's about it, downstairs-wise. I have ideas about static training. I think it's one of those underrated things. It can be beneficial, in moderate doses, given that our goal is strength. Don't wanna miss out on something beneficial, especially if it helps in rehab/prehab!

Pushup plank, static hold counting real fast (not seconds) to one hundred - one set.

I forgot to mention I've been twisting my ankle a lot yesterday, one real big and painful one and a few small ones so now it's stiff like wood. Silly, a silly setback! And it hinders me even on this exercise. Forced to stay home for a while longer! Should not have kicked that damn door πŸ˜πŸ˜’πŸ™πŸ˜πŸ˜ΆπŸ”«

Another set, narrow grip - nice, starting to load triceps

Also, I gotta note how my Wednesday presses have loaded my abs - so oldschool, I've been missing this!

Third set of these static holds, wide grip, some shifting between arms, where the center of mass goes. Then 4th, pushed myself for a while, shoulders loaded, not counting. Should be enough for this.

Squat static hold against the wall, a-la horseman stance

2 sets

Mostly writing. Did not work out yesterday?

Enjoying the little light workout. Mind has settled again - thank You for Your prayers, dear reader! Thank God, always and forever!

Workout

Warmup - a lot of light rubber Olympic-style overhead stretches, variations, tricep extensions, forearm moves, 2 sets

Overhead press - 6+6 kg dbs, 3 sets, focusing on power and speed rather than muscle-sensation a-la bodybuilding

Wall pushups - 3 sets of 20+ reps

Knee pushups - 2 sets of 20+ reps

Pushups, normal - 2 sets of 30 reps - nothing hurts, that's great!

Very thirsty, drinking just milk. Ran out of Earl Grey, how silly!

Calf raises - 3 sets, raises and static holds, right ankle tight and weak. Repenting, tasting the grapes of my wrath. Please pray for me some more.
