September 27th - OHP up to 110x5, Squat 170 for 2 sets of 12
27.09.2025
Mediocre day. I feel above average now. I've been having some mood and sleep problems. But nutrition very good. Writing. Not sure what but I'm writing.
Workout
20 for 20
50 for 10
50 for 10
70 for 5
90 for 5
95 for 5 nice, very strict
100 for 5
100 for 5 good
110 for 4 and a half rep stuck at lockout; and another similar rep. You need to press more often if you wanna avoid this. I have my sides, my obliques twisted a little differently right now from how my arms and shoulders are used to it. And... I'm also doing an excessive "forward" press, as per usual, lol. And my right wrist has been hurting; I would say it might have been pulling exercises that stretched it from how it needs to be in press but it's the wrong blame-shifting - cause my wrist would have stayed right if I'd done more overhead lifts, more frequently.
I've been having occasional un-evennesses in OHP. It's very unusual for me. That's because I'm now training it with lowest frequency I've had in years. Hmm. Well, in this recent period, as I worked on my DL. I also abandoned any kind of programming for anything beside DL cause I don't care enough. And it's worked perfectly - for my mind, and thusly my body as well.
I've had my torso twisted cause I've been sleeping on one side with a pair of pillows. Strangely comfortable in bed. On the right side. The left side was the sagging one. Now I gotta fix it. I think I'll film it too.
110 for 5 - small pr for the season 😁
Disregard all those downtrodden musings from earlier. I wasn't pressing 110. I was pressing 112,5, with a cheeky 2.5 kg plate forgotten on the left side. 😔😂 And I'm glad I managed it, although it was dirty and ugly. I didn't film it. I also wore a weightlifting belt, underbelly, pushing it up a little on that final 110. Life's a comedy! You get to laugh 😁
Now, let's assess roughly how I pressed that 110. I grinded very hard on the final rep! When I get more flexibility I'll be "pressing forward" less. But *that* takes frequency.
Squat
50 for 5
100 for 5
150 for 5 pretty confident. Wearing weightlifting shoes and stepping with heels on a pair of thin rubber covers.
170 for 12 - nice, that is also a small seasonal PR. Pretty confident, all reps, no particular dropping of the back, raising elbows to press the bar higher into traps/neck - that works well for me and my squat.
A little worried for my throat and lungs - it has gotten cold pretty recently, after all. I just wanted to do a couple sets of 5, but I did that and two more reps on top. Should I do more? I'll have to listen to my throat, to how it feels. I'd do pullovers, but I guess it's better to be cautious, I already got pretty raspy. Yet I know somewhere in my cells is a way to adjust to it all, just like my wrist. And my wrist ended up not really bothering me in the end.
170 for 12 - you know, this one was easier. Did it after a break. And cardio felt much easier too! I reckon I might have been undersquatting on some reps though, hm. But when I noticed it I tried to fix it. And as usual, I was definitely going deep in the end there. Taking pauses. Blood blowing up my face. Baby glossolalia, tip of the tongue. God Bless. Feels Good! ☦
You know, I realize I should have done more weightlifting overhead stretches as well as some more "ressort". I was upset because of how late it is. Frankly, all of this session took place (took time 😁) on the 28th, i.e. after midnight. But I digress - the overhead stick/rubber stretch loosens my right wrist perfectly. Must do it more!
