September 13th, Saturday - Stiff legged DL, sets of 10 190-200-210
13.09.2025
Another one of those days. I feel a little weird. Off balance! But better than yesterday. Not a lot of time left in the day to do the workout. I was planning to do heavy RDLs.
I ate well and slept super well. That makes you wonder... Why slack off? Ate well, slept so good I had lovely, smooth, simple dreams... You know, I'm sort of capable of lucid dreaming. Have been for a long time! Since I was a child. I'm half aware of when I'm dreaming, that's what allows it.
I had a lot of instant coffee yesterday - but no workout and no writing. That was a bad idea! Caffeine in instant coffee hits different.
I re-acquired the taste for robusta I bought and got used to it. But I know arabica is gonna feel like manna when I taste it again lol. Robusta got more caffeine.
I feel good and I don't feel bad. And it is late - but I will work out. AND I will write.
As I mentioned earlier, I'm doing an RW2 - "ReWrite 2". I've switched to ACTUAL non-ai assisted writing in late May. I am a victim of the ai psyop lol! I mean, look at all these commercials - they want you to be a helpless baby! Rant forced over. There are a dozen pages on this blog talking about that. I've been into ai before it was cool!.. hehe.
And I'm excising it all. And rewriting the plot. I'm no longer afraid to look and sound stupid - you gotta be true to who you are outside of the computer screen. A truckpile of muscle with a living brain somewhere inside, a powerful spirit trying its hardest to move it in the right direction. Not easy!
So yeah, the plan is to finish this robusta, have another coffee, do some reading and then go back upstairs and write.
Let's go and read...
***
Before yesterday I had a really nice writing session. That's when I read the chapter in Suttree when the goatman first appears. Or so I think. In the middle. I read it fairly lazily. But my comprehension has improved. It's just I read parts of this book before I bought it. So yeah, I liked that part super much and I re-read it yesterday, but yesterday, as I mentioned, was an unpleasant empty day as opposed to before yesterday. I sacrificed my energy to help youths develop, as I am at this point a qualified teacher and I take a super little amount of money for my teaching. I'd like to be known more as a brave warrior than a teacher, hehe. Like Plato. Of course, teachers are the ones who get actually remembered and being a brave warrior is only a cherry on top. Gotta be a man, warrior or a hobo. Socrates, Plato and Diogenes (of the barrel, as opposed to the historian one). Diogenes was alright. He was a dog. In this country people want you to be a dog.
Workout
Writing... Enjoying writing so much. Some warmup upstairs - short BW movements, 16 kg kettlebell swings, switching hands
Deadlift - still legged, 2-3 inches above floor (stacked rugs); it's something like touch and go - except I make sure not to receive any impulse from the floor. It's a little uneven, I admit - technique changes sporadically
Sets of 10
70 - 120 - 160 - took a pause here, liver stinging 😁
190 for 10 - not bad, most reps were dead stop. It's hard to take it off the floor with stiff legs! 😮 Also I think I had 1.25 kg plates under my toes on this one (they were still there when I came to the gym for the next set)
200 for 10 - really nice, all dead stop, I was starting to feel gassed after 7 so I made sure that even though it's a dead stop - on the floor, muscles relaxed - I deadlift it immediately. No plates under toes here - a little too gimmicky today, it's not squat after all. Liver is alright - granted, I had my belt loose. Gasping for air but liver painless!
I thought of doing some pullovers - but it's already starting to get cold downstairs. My throat was pretty sore after Thursday Squats and pullovers.
I had in my mind an image of me doing 230 for sets of 10. I think I can do it, but in shorter range and without touching the floor. 200 today is a preferred option, I'd say - that way when I get to 230 it'll be done more powerfully, short or long range.
210 for 10 - nice, I reckon that's gotta be a new mini PR for stiffleggers 😁 I've done it as 6+2+2, all dead stops - but I learned to use dynamic start while keeping legs stiff! It's mostly about the back springing in, like a ressort, a leaf spring, if you will 😏 The liver started hurting afterwards 😁 I need more cardio or something. Well, I am going crazy dancing to Commander (band) upstairs now 😁
All these emojis remind me of my grandparents. Feeling guilty! I wish they'd just move here or something, that'd be easier.
