May 8th - Impulsive training coming to an end, cathartic failure

 08.05.2025

Nice day. Finally slept well. Ate okay.

Workout

Deadlift

20 - 70 - 120

160 for 5

200 for 3 all overhand! grip PR 😮 Mostly just because of new vertical lift technique!

230 for 2 straps from here

250 for 2

260 for 1 lovely

273 for 1 a little too hard for my liking - but it was fast.

Using Manowar to measure breaks... You're allowed one song per rest 😁 That's an oldschool method, keeping you on your toes...

290,5 - 3 sets of 0. As usual, the first one was the best, held it at a sticking point (just below my knees), shook my hams and had to drop it.

I have to change a few things. It's been three weeks of me trying to max out - very silly. At least I got that 283 bone, lol. I know I can do more - if I peak out right. I need to train a little differently. Have a program now, and add accessory work. I had had the program in DL the longest - it was still important. Good to know I'm more or less in a good shape, however. I just gotta get consistent. I remember those days when I didn't eat well. Now I have an opportunity to always eat well, but I have some health issues and worsened habits. Gotta get sleep under control. Speaking of, I've been noticing how my appetite in general is pretty low.

Need higher reps on top of higher strength volume; just a bit more bodybuilding style work all around. That should also help reduce chance of injury. Need a more consistent program - the one I've been using is bad. I have my experience and I should try to draft up a program for myself. Once a week is reasonable for DL, but arbitrary.

Volume... Gotta increase it. I do have a lot of programs people have done, all accessible to me. I have some knowledge. Gotta use it.

Some stretching on the pullup bar - helps me heal that rib of mine a little.

Gotta remember though: I definitely should work on my hams, some more stiff legged stuff - bar far away from center of mass, maybe even cool fun short-range exercises, maybe even rubber - could be lovely. I reckon the option where rubber helps you lift has a bit more carryover than the one where rubber adds tension... I gotta try both, I pretty much never did DL with added rubber. More DL. I have quite a few ideas, finally time to go ahead and be the creator of my own destiny when it comes to specific planned programming...

Those new technique findings - they're also worth pondering on. How I use my neck and my back. May want to see if I can change the angle of my spine while I lift, just a little. Make better use of erectors.

I should be able to master 270 and 280 as a working weight. Just get really acquainted with them, make them average. I know it's quite possible, and shouldn't take long.
