February 5th, Wednesday - DL 240 for 5 sets of 4, very easy; Coffee brewing instructions (conventional brew!)

 05.02.2025

Nice day. I've been quite 'distracted' for a few days now, since Sunday. I don't like it, but I'm more of that than I have been in a while somehow. Well, yesterday there was nothing. I was really busy trying to learn how to build a basic UI app to use a Gemini API. Gemini is a 'gem' in the rough, heh. Because you can adjust temperature in a way that doesn't make it sound crazy. You can tell it's been trained on different material than ChatGPT. I've been liking it more and more. The user app is pretty bad, but AI studio is lovely. Restrictions, however, are pretty severe no matter what you try. In that regard Claude is the most free. Claude-3-Haiku is a decent and balanced option. I mean it's weak, but it's good as a re-writing assistant - not writing, but re-, in fact, -writing. It's game for me. That whole book I've been 'working' on it started as a form of AI Dungeon gameplay after another ego death, another escape into alternative reality. Oh, that time in Summer 2023, that was magical. The good part of '23. I can't help but with for another egodeath to reset my personality again. I had something of the sort in January '24. Resetting. New horizons opening, new choices.

I've been feeling great physically... and mentally. I've had weird sleep last week - but I sort of managed to reset my sleeping into daytime function! Cause I slapped my Wednesday, Friday and Thursday into two days, heh. Not gonna happen today. I had a decent long recovery sleep yesterday after that whole long bender, and sort of the same today. I'm buzzing perfectly now after a nice 40/444 conventional brew. It's the best while it's hot, before it oversteeps.

The instruction for my current conventional brew is as follows:

1) Keep beans safe

2) Measure out your portion (usually 20-40)

3) Sprinkle - only a tiny bit of water to avoid electrostatic sticking, clumping

4) Grind, not too fast or you're gonna break your grinder

5) Boil water, let it sit for a little while so it's boiling while you pour it - put on electric kettle when you start grinding... Also buy an electric kettle, they're a magnificent, underrated option for boiling water. Ideally not a plastic one, although they're not the worst.

6) Deposit the grounds into your large pot - small pot can work too, but it'll require more attention when brewing

7) Pour water slowly, measuring out your preferred thickness ratio - from one to 10 to 1 to twelve... The pot is on the scale, that's how you're measuring it out.

8) Put the pot on fire, let it bubble - again, to preference. Let the air bubbles form an even structure in the mass o raw coffee...

9) Don't wait too long before trying your first cup. You want it hot, and you can't really allow yourself to re-warm it (unless you're using 'water bath' but that's still not good). Pour out the coffee through the strainer into a separate pot...

10) Voila. Consume it and vibrate to the moon...

Today we're going for session 14 - 5 sets of 4 with 80%. Might not be too hard?

I had a dream I deadlifted 310 in some legendary old gym that was located close to some other significant locale near me... In reality there's no gym there, but I find it peculiar that it's located there, taking me back twenty year in the past. I deadlifted it and didn't even film it! That was a good dream though.

Workout

Putting on clothes

Deadlift

20 for 20

70 for 15 cardio, heh

120 for 10

160 for 4

200 for 4 - I attempted first rep with overhand grip; not just fingertips, but calluses. I almost got it; decided to count it.

240 for 4 nice

240 for 4 a little better. Feeling my quads - possibly because of all the air humping

240 for 4 high belt - difficult but easy. Not 'hard' or 'heavy' - isn't it curious?

240 for 4 - middle belt, almost too tight (like on the first set, forgot to mention). This was an extremely easy set - I didn't dip my hips TOO LOW on this one. Curiously, on the previous set, when I was doing it with HIGH BELT, I *did* dip my hips pretty low and I *could* lift the bar off this way. But this set, with fairly minimal "squatting" - and the middle belt, which is more conventional for me - it was so easy. I barely ran out of breath. I love this, there is so much to discover here!

240 for 4 lovely, as easy as the previous one. Mid belt, high hips - i.e. not 'dipping low' (for extra clarity)

Well, that's it. I'd love to work out tomorrow.

Cool boat-plane - engineered almost a century ago!
