January 11th - Lovely OHP, some PP and squat

 11.01.2025

OHP session 18 - 4 sets of 3 with 82,5% again. I wanna work from a 100 to 110, I believe that makes sense. 100 - 105 - 108 - 110, that's the idea. 100 and 105 will need to be done perfectly powerfully, not struggling, all CNS activated.

Sleep has been surprisingly okay - possibly because sleep quality had gotten high? I think I redeveloped some sensitivity to melatonin, also I took a shower today. Things are way better again. Training needs to be good. Nutrition is good too - not overloaded, but sufficient.

Had a 40/460 conventional brew and having a 30/340 one now. Decent, good enough taste. CNS feels primed well enough. I'm in control, Thank God.

Workout

Warmup - pretty thourough, even some rubber pulldowns out of curiosity

Overhead press

20 for 20

40 for 10

60 for 8

80 for 5

100 for 3 pretty easy. pretty laid back

103 for 3 decent, weird, unnecessarily strict technique, unusually narrow grip, slow movement, also it was more like 3.5 reps cause on second I pressed in the wrong direction. I can't stop experimenting! That's why on the next set I'll try my best to re-achieve a more conventional technique

105,5 for 3 - weird set. Two good reps, then I lowered the bar a little wrong, hitting the 'breaking point' in my back I've developed... I need to work over it, regrow it with more muscle, cause I didn't have that before I left. It strained my connective tissue, so I had to pause and re-rack the bar and do the third rep some time later. I used to be very good at lowering the bar in OHP and PP, so in control... Something went away. It'll come back.

108 for 3 - most satisfying set so far; not easy, not strainless, but pretty strict and kinda slow. Lockout on third rep was hard but smooth, after a second of doubting I knew I can squeeze it out to the top.

110,5 for 3 - lovely, activated my CNS with some hot music and my cue-chant and did a good, relatively strict set. There was some conventional heave with the hips, but you know what wasn't there? Back breaking.

Push press

60 for 1

90 for 1 accidental pushjerk

110 for 1 lovely, a burst

120 for 1

130 for 1 that was good - not an explosion, but very smooth and fast, without a promintent separate lockout.

Squat - sets of 5 reps

60 - 90 - 110 - 130

Finally, feels good. I'm making it a bit more powerlifting-like - the old cues of but stiff air before descending, ass out and thighs to the side, a mild lumbar curve (did not use to do it), weight going from heels to mid-foot and back, deep but not attg - not stretching my tissue, not pausing or bouncing in the hole. It felt so good and smooth.

I'm well struck with endorphin today; I spent quite some time downstairs, in the garage, monologuing to myself about various things in life and characters in my book. Sometimes I'm overwhelmed with how big the book had gotten by now, and how low the general quality is, and how inconsistent and aimless it might seem. But today I feel really calm about it - because I just *have* it. It makes all the sense. Standards? Yeah, it's alright to have standards. Some things are dependant on standards more than other ones. Book vs music vs games vs visual art. Visual arts requires less standards to follow to be enjoyable, then music, then books possibly sharing a spot with games; actually, no, games definitely have much stricter, much stiffer standards than books do. I wish to see one day how more people will engage in creating videogames, and good ones. It's already happening since so many people, even me, have learned absolute basics of coding and game creation. But one day a game engine will come that will be like Unity but much better.
