January 6th, Monday - OHP, PP and finally bringing back some squat
06.01.2025
OHP session 17 - 4 sets of 6 with 75%... So possibly from 90 to 100. Hmmmm. Not exactly sure about all this! Not the most reasonable thing to do today... But I also know that I am a little too cautious right now. Had a long uncontrolled sleep and a decent meal. Had one conventional brew - 30 grams of beans and 330 grams of water. Not oversteeped, it got cold quick. The room is chilly. Can you believe I used to breathe carbon monoxide for a few years in a row, or possibly for 9 years in a row every winter? Well, not in a row. 8 years then, one separated.
Workout
Warmup - PVC pipe moves
Overhead press
20 for 20
40 for 10
60 for 8 - decided to use 20 kg plates today
80 for 6 okay
90 for 6 lovely, decent. Today I went to medium grip and decided to abandon putting the bar on chest, for today at least.
93 for 6 okay, feels a little heavier. Might have taken an overly long break.
93 for 6 nice, super easy as I pumped in a huge amount of air into me
95,3 for 6 lovely, super easy
Push press
60 for 1
90 for 1
110 for 1 - all reps were good and shot up explosively. I wish it'd make more sense to do more volume today, but right now we're being careful.
Squat
Went to do some warmup upstairs - mostly thigh outward rotations.
60 for 5
90 for 5 - kinda doesn't feel quite right, everything feels a little tender inside. Well, that's why you gotta get used to it.
90 for 2 more sets of 5 - a little better. I think I have to focus on keeping the weight on my heel and mid-foot; the only time it should be on toes is in the absolute bottom, but then it's gotta go to midfoot and heel as I rise. Also need to use ait and my cues.
***
You know, when I was out there , I literally never regretted it for one single moment, no matter how hard it got... That is mind blowing. You can endeavor to do something difficult and never regret it... Granted, it's cause I knew there was no other way. But still, so many things before that in life... Very different.
Also, the way I handled my pneumonia-bronchitis whatever it was... I've handled this illness better than I ever have in life, i.e. with the least amount of bitching and whining and completely outside of the bed except for the first two days... And I could not breathe very well at all. That's a personal achievement for me, being able to withstand an illness like that... Why and how could I do that? A lot of reasons, realistically.
I wasn't one of the normal guys there, I didn't fit in at all, reckon with general vibe I was giving off... But still, it all made sense to me.
