December 28th, Saturday - Bench 120 5x10, small PR

 28.12.2024

This week I've been enjoying my time in GTA Online, playing in the snow. It has that real uncanny, liminal feeling while it's snowing. Cause it's not exactly like in real life, it's an old set of 'winter' stereotypes like adding a snow texture on top of everything and white fog in the sky, but still it looks nice and unusual. I've been having a lot of fun trolling people, driving around a buggy that can drop mines. One guy - a fairly toxic guy who decided to play a hide'n'seek CEO open world mission and I was the only one trying to find him - he got so butthurt he used some modding stuff that still works to crash my game. "My friend will ask you to leave" he said. I assume he's using some other account in the background so his main account doesn't get banned. Pretty silly what the modders get used to doing. But eventually, after restarting the crashed game and hopping some lobbies I ended up in that lobby again, trolling some more toxic sweaty players from the darkness; I also like to use the buggy cause you can use the propulsion - i.e. "pushing" pistol in it, unlike in other cars. I randomly dropped some mines amidst some toxic gameplay situation and drove away, and that toxic guy from earlier got himself blown up. Boy, did he rage! Almost instantly crashed me again, not giving me much of a chance to boast about my coolhaxxing skills, hehe. That's the memory, just a nice little memory. Yesterday I went after some other other tryhard who was trying to bomb casual players/grinders. First I called a mugger on him a few times, then did the old 'drive to military base to get a jet' still... Still don't have any jets in that game. Blew up his B-17 bomber from the sky, 'bogie down' I said in the chat. He raged beautifully... I experimented trying to remember how to teleport around the map via normal means, so I called luxury helicopter, then took a taxi from the Agency in the game up to Paleto Bay (northernmost town) - both ways are normal means of teleporting, since mission teleporting got fixed not too long ago. That was cringe anyway. That guy came after me again in the bomber! I tailed him back to the south, to the military base, juking him by going into the tunnel and then coming out of it sneakily off-radar as he crashed his plane and landed in a parachute; ended up blowing him up a couple times there. Some mild raging in chat ensues as I drove down south to the nearby clothes store and worked on my green Christmas outfit; he tried to blow me up by placing a fairly loudly beeping proximity mine on my Virtue (armored electric supercar in the game that you get for free after a long questline, based on Lotus Evija) Remember Lotus? Gosh, it's been so long since I was interested in cars... Anyway, the mine blew up doing pretty much nothing except flipping the car; I got into my Sparrow and went after him, blowing him up with rockets after some twirling in the air. Landed on top of the execute office, got in and out again for a TV pause - to observe some other players. Got out just as he flew overhead and went after him again; this time, we blew each other up as I went for a risky play, so it was 4 - 1. Then it was some more funny stuff as further raging in chat ensued, especially since I called a mugger on him again; I went after him in Virtue with thrown sticky bombs as he engaged with in a nooby playstyle in a fully armored Nightshark. The problem with a fully armored one is that it only allows you to use front machineguns and not any other weapon from the windows, thus limiting any offense potential; he ended up leaving at that point. Just another little memory showcasing how immature in general I am...

2024 was a pretty great year, much in contrast to 2023. I am so much more chill, valuing my life now. Enjoying my time, no matter how trivially I choose to spend it.

It's strange. I feel understimulated. I feel good though, most of the time. Physical stimulation is great, but mental is somewhat lacking, which might be a good sign. I'm not 'distracted' right now.

Workout

Warmup - mostly PVC pipe movements

Bench press

20 for 20

40 for 20

70 for 15

90 for 10

120 for 10 nice, very easy, pecs just a little stiff

120 for 10 about the same, maybe a little better

120 for 10 - definitely a little better

120 for 10 even better durability-wise, but starting to get fatigued

120 for 10 same

Alright, that's good! No tearing sensations. Not enough energy for barbell squat, but we will do something. Also, this is definitely a volume PR at this weight 😁

Squat

2 sets of 15 - bodyweight. Quads already a little fatigued from all the nighttime squats and stretches, And the result shows, by the way - I feel pretty comfortable today, in contrast to recent weeks.

16 kg goblet squat - 4 sets of 15 - super underrated exercise for physical culture, I should simply do it more! My knees are not creaking, my left ankle does, I feel very well balanced. Maybe Zercher could be a nice option too eventually! Perfect balance between hips and quads, the best I can put how it feels.

Radialis started cramping on squat despite multiple bananas consumed... How curious. Actually, one thing I have to admit - today and yesterday my nutrition has been a little relaxed, didn't eat any meat. Can still have some today? Perhaps some more Chinese-style pork? I'd love that.

Gosh, how difficult would it have been to add some more *indepth* Sims elements to a game like GTA? It would have been a much better game than Sims 3. Just a perfect combination of action and relaxation. Go to a library to learn how to hack - do a robbery and hack the safe - celebrate with your fellow robbers at a restaurant - get ambushed by a corrupt government agency there - have to fight your way out and lick your wounds at a safehouse, calling a veterinary to help (that'd be a Sims element btw!) Oh, they have all that, just to a shallower degree. I'd like an actual combination of elements, just an ability to metaphorically zoom in 100x into every activity. Just details that seem unnecessary but are actually the juice of the bone marrow, you know what I mean?

Calf raises - 2 sets of 50 - some straightforward upward raises, some "into-the-muscle" pushes. Hard to explain; but it's what I've done recently when I did 3 sets of 75 - not directing the movement upwards but more, well, inside.
