December 22nd, Sunday - OHP

 21.12.2024

I've been trying to fix my sleep schedule and it's not been going right. Maybe something has been going right, I don't know what. And yeah, technically it's 22nd.

Workout

Minimal upper body warmup

Overhead press

20

50 for 5

50 for 20 - I'm realizing I just can't allow myself to attempt to have a serious downstairs workout if I am serious about finding a way to 'fix' my sleeping schedule

Upstairs

One arm press

16 - 3 sets of 20, split in 10 rep parts

Looking at the bright side - it could have been worse, I know it well. I have been doing some things to make sure it's not worse - good for me. Illness, for example.

32 - 2 sets of 10

22.12.2024

A little better. I switched a few things, I think today we can, I dunno, do something. It's kinda late, but not the wrong kind of late.

I would love to work out every day, if I could just adjust a few things. There are signs pointing to brain changes that I am experiencing. Different from how it used to be many years ago. Workout wise. I have different feelings about working out, but I need it more than ever.

Workout

Warmup - one set of PWC pipe pressing

Overhead press

20 for 20

50 for 10

70 for 8 kinda hard

90 for 5 not bad

100 for 4 ugly but strict

103 - 3 sets of 4 - better and better with every set. Decided 103 should be good enough, considering how I feel. Also, a little tidbit - I've been moving both my arms evenly a bit more to the left and I think it helped with my unevenness today.

Today - tonight - I've been supersetting my workout with cooking Chinese-style pork in cornstarch batter. Very nice! I used to make it back in the day. Sugar, soy sauce, chili powder, tomato sauce, mixed with a mixer, adding cornstarch bit by bit until it's a non-Newtonian fluid. Added some more starch later, so the second half of the meat is much thicker. That pan I rescued from the other garage is actually really great, has been all this time.

Push press

53 - 3 or 4 sets of either 2 or 3 reps or somewhere in between... I gotta take some vitamins. Mostly focusing on the front rack here. Glad to report it's in good condition, even on a tiny weight like 53. I think tomorrow I'll do bench and partial squats after all.

I gotta tell you something... My connective tissue in my legs isn't great. It's better than it was earlier in Summer and early Autumn I think. But as I go around the house, squatting down to look at things - it's all kinda really stiff, really not great. I'm not sure what I need exactly. My right hip is often mildly painful when I start squatting, outward thigh rotations with the rubber band help a lot.
