December 16th, Monday - Bench 5x10 and some squat

 16.12.2024

Nice day. Good nutrition, decent sleep. I realized that the word 'fancy' is connected to the word 'fantasy'. Mind = blown.

Bench and squat today. Working on expanding chemical storages in pecs.

I was thinking I could do 5 sets of 10 with 110 kgs. It should take very little. I admit I also don't have the most elevated mood today. I feel good, but I don't feel excited. Compressed somewhat. I have something mildly unusual I have to do tomorrow, now that excites me. I have some unresolved issues, inside and outside of my mind. I just wish I was free in a way I imagine freedom. But no, I am dragged down to the ground. I feel like there's a way to be much more free than I am now, I used to have that. It requires careful balance, a lot of patience, and most importantly God's grace. Gratitude for His grace.

Workout

Warmup, upper body

Bench

20 and 40

70 for 10

90 for 10

110 for 2 sets of 10 - decent. Pecs feel frail but not breaking. IMPORTANT TIDBIT - must unrack comfortably since I ain't a dwarf... Must unrack as if it was a press lockout rather than a pullover! That changes so much and for some reason I've been trying to do a very, very weird unracking technique which probably caused me grief and discomfort...

110 for 10 - good

Here, some lower body warmup during a short break - variations of stepups onto the porch, including lean-forward one leg stepup - really loads my right hip and my hips flexors on the right leg, not so on the left. Got my quads burning with all the moves, nice.

110 for 10 lovely. No pec breaking today, really smooth feeling, really light weight.

Now, let's speculate. On Wednesday we'll be doing 4 sets of 4 with 240. A very conventional and normal energy-accumulating workout. I'd like to minimize the potential hindering from loading my legs today; not sure how that can be accomplished while maximizing training stimulus in a way that feels appropriate for my CNS condition today (which I'd rate about 67/100). So, I'm thinking of doing 130-150 for sets of 6... Six is such an awkward number, unless you think of it as a pair of threes, which makes it feel way less awkward... The depths of human mind. I'll do sixes.

Squat

70 and 90 for 6

I wish I had a more plastic mind regarding my techniques... I'm used to squatting with a stiff torso, with flexed abs - same as when I deadlift. But that puts real excessive strain on my leg joints... Now I tried doing the 'twerky' type of squat, the one that beginners like to do... It seems to work a little better. The one with the ass sticking out and the stomach stretching out a little. This is also an important tidbit to consider.

120 for 6 with the aforementioned technique tweak, also narrow grip with arms

140 for 6 - my tissues are feeling overwhelmed, too much mild discomfort in too many places... Otherwise technique is nice

70 for 6 good, I feel in control here, finding a groove where it doesn't feel uncomfortable
