November 4th - Nice OHP workout
04.11.2024
Nice day. Slept a little too long, very peaceful again. Yesterday was kinda the opposite, played a lot of music with my little brother. Today I got up real late, had a porkchop and an egg, had one conventional. It got really sour in the end, so for my second one I poured the coffee into the little old teapot I bought in July, a metallic one. Yet to see how it turns out. Kinda feeling a little too full, the training session is going to happen pretty late.
OHP session 18 - 4 sets of 3 with 82,5%. 99, rounded up to 100, maybe more... It's all so easy, I'm kinda cutting myself some slack by picking 120 as my max - but I have not really done 120 strictly, and so far all of my sessions were done very strictly. I have a lot of extra power. And I am bringing back PP again. I'd love it if I could make PP a mainstay... Also, good news - I had absolutely no issues with my side yesterday. And I've also been doing some squat variations with rings, mostly just staying in the ATTG hole. It's great for legs and hips, but it doesn't do anything for the torso in regards to barbell squat, and my torso is lacking. Although all that attention to my sides has definitely grown my abs, my obliques. They're rubbing up against my forearms when I go pee and that's a fairly novel sensation. I'm big and heavy.
Workout
Warmup - thorough
Overhead press
20 - 50 - 70 - 70
90 for 3 lovely, managing to overcome wrist pain without wraps
100,3 for 4 sets of 3 - kinda super easy, well, more or less
108 for 1 - rpe 70% or something (rate of popular egalitarianism)
Push press
53 hold - curious how it's not touching my shoulders... Well, it is past the clavicle, in my neck.
53 for 4 push jerk, hip hurts
73 for 4 - first rep push jerk, then three properly controlled PPs
73 for 4 proper pps
50 kgs hold on chest, stretching, experimenting with putting shoulders forward
BTN press 20 for 20
I'll be deadlifting on Wednesday... Pray for me!
