Twenty third of November, 20XXIII, 4thsday - Failed OHP, light workout

 23.11.2023

Lovely day. I woke up early from cold. Strange how easy it was. That's cause I got enough sleep on Tuesday, perhaps. Tomorrow might be difficult. My natural high is continuing from yesterday. Feels great. Had a lovely caloric breakfast, not very varied in nutrients, but there were healthy fats.

Napped for a while. Did something important in preparation for what I was supposed to be doing. It was difficult for me, I was procrastinating for a while. An insight into other people's mind. I sound like a very old man on the phone. Hehe. Or like a very intrusive person. Thank God it's not as bad as it used to be. Natural high, I love it. I think there was a Hammerfall song, I might have even had it on CD when I used to love power metal a lot. I loved the idea, the beautiful clear image that the conventional power metal provided. Nowadays I'm a mushroom man.

Today is supposed to be Week 10, Session 2 - 4 sets of 2 with 87,5%. Hmm. Could be reasonable. It depends. 118? Alright.

Enjoying lovely music on the old large speakers. They vibrate my feet. Started with Saint Vitus, then some other stuff, like Cathedral and Old Tomb - funny, I embedded them before. Norilsk, the band with their small EP - lovely too. Sigiriya, now Tombstones (Nor) Volume I. All fitting the mood.

It's kinda late. Enjoying the second moka. I only had two yesterday, and it was enough. Same today. Lovely taste. Fresco Arabica Solo. I wouldn't have bought it if I hasn't ventured to the store where I saw it being sold with a fairly ridiculous markup.

Workout

Some L-flys, stick work, lower body moves, squat variations, some ez-bar presses

Overhead press

20

50 for 5

70 for 5

90 for 3 - at least I think I did three

100 for 2

118 for one failed rep - pressed to the sticking point and had to stop. Too early for this intensity. In the old days I would have attempted to summon my grit and push through, wasting my energy, but nowadays I know better. We shall have this workout after our CNS has recovered better, as well as our pressing muscles. Still, I wanted to do some more, so I did

100 for 4 - four felt like a good number to give myself, believe it or not.

20 for a few more reps

Unloaded the bar.

One arm press, kettlebell body on palm

16 kg - 3 sets of 10 - feeling my obliques, narrow stance.

I think I might squat tomorrow. So it's okay to train my bicep a little today.

Curls

6+6 kg dbs - 2 sets of 15 drag curls, slow, feeling the muscle, making sure it can't be "hit out of my hands", if you will - that's how you might add force to a smaller weight.

32 kg kettlebell, grip by body - 1 sets of 15 - haven't done it in a while. It was really difficult after yesterday's completely strapless workout.

16 kg kettle, conventional supine grip, drag curl - 3 sets of 15 reps each hand, underrated, cool exercise. I love uncovering new exercises. This one really makes your control the weight, cause my forearms are so tight. I did little pauses on top, both biceps burning really hard in the end.

Some more stretching for my shoulderblades and arms, so I can mull them back and together more evenly.
