Sunday and Monday, 15th and 16th of October 2023 - Bench, lats, curls, rehabilitation
15.10.2023
Nice day. Slept little, ate well, finally had some carbs (buckwheat). Carbs are underrated imho, at least this type.
Been wanting to play GTAV again, the toxic game, do all the semi-mindless action-full missions. But also I played BG3 yesterday after a short break, enjoying it. I'm close to finishing the main story. Act III is longer than it seems on the surface! And I really breezed through the first part of it way too quickly. The first two acts though, they're still more fun. If I'm gonna have a second playthrough I'll make sure to intersperse overworld Act II content with unfinished Act I content.
The amount of lines the characters have in the game in astonishing. The devs thought of so, so many things other companies would have never even gotten an idea about. The game is more interactive than any other game I've played... ever. Yes, ever! Astonishing that's it's claimed it's place on a pedestal of my most acclaimed games, the ones that left the biggest impression on me. Not necessarily favorite - although, they generally are. If I had to name three it'd be Morrowind, New Vegas and in 2023 Baldur's Gate. Surprising! One game per decade, curiously enough. And all the other crybaby devs were whining about the shining new standarts! Yes, I will compare all games to BG3 from now on, because it is the new golden standart.
On to other important thoughts - it's not the pressing movements that have been bothering my elbow, it's the very narrow grip on squat that stretches my pronator tendon over the Medial Epicondyle. And I was also raising my elbows for a tighter grip yesterday, smh... No biggie! I'm glad I discovered it. And I'll still make sure to go a bit easier on the pressing movements today. Lower volume, better warmup. It was NOT a combination of bench and PP like I said yesterday.
Workout
Warmup - long, a lot of careful elbow and forearm moves, flexing my lats into themselves. In the, I applied a moderate wrap to my right elbow (I could wear for a long time, as I did, but it was tight)
Bench - narrow-medium grip, actually narrower than my normal OHP grip
20 for 20
From now on, only sets of 12
50 - 70 - 80 - 85 - 87,5 - 90,5
It felt nice. My pecs felt completely stretched, as I have had two squat sessions from last time I benched (and one squat session right before). I guess I either need a great lot more mobility of I need a slightly different grip on squat, the one with elbows looking down. That makes a lot of sense.
Some more mild accessory work - standing leg curls with prone/supine foot, calf raises, light shoulder flys

Nice day. Woke up, gave lessons. I think it might be down to 88 or something, I'm losing count. Had a nice moderate meal, ended up falling asleep listening to nostalgic tunes playing incessently in my head. I wish it could just be over. But I only wish.
Today my elbow is much better. I feel like I can have a lat and bicep workout. Should be nice.
I gotta have more potassium, perhaps. Since Summer it's been colder, so I'm less dehudrated, and I find myself reaching for the medicine box less. It's be so easy to poison me, wouldn't it? But, of course, no one is interested in doing that. When you think about it, it wouldn't be that easy. I might wanna try switching to front squats if back squats seem to cause so much elbow pain.
I'm fucking afraid of killing myself, I hate that shit. I don't want to do it, and I don't want to think about it. Fuck this garbage. Fuck this evolutionary mechanism (as I hypothesize). Annoying parasite thought.
It's 22:34. Might wanna start my light workout soon.
Workout
Light rubber lat pulls, one arm - 2 sets of 15, trying to make it powerful and velocious
Hard rubber - same, 2 sets of 15
Double folded hard rubber - both hands, 1 set of 13 - I decided to stop at 13 cause it looked like it's getting torn already
Floor supported ring pullups - not using legs as much, keeping the move powerful and velocious, accelerating through the amplitude
3 sets of 10
Elbow hasn't been bothering me almost at all, clearly warmed up. Still, I'm feeling wary, especially about the next exercise
Did one underhand pullup and one overhand, decided I better stay wary til my forearm-elbow isn't bothering me. I keep calling it an elbow, but it is actually the forearm, funny. Important note!
Curls
A set with 2 kg dbs, then 6 kgs
21 kg dumbbell - one arm curls, standing up - 5 sets of 10 - feels great, makes my abs work too! Elbow is no issue. Short breaks.
Two od these five sets I tried doing by the wall, it was harder, especialy on the left in the final set. I pretty much reached muscular failure then.
That's it, two days in one post again. Feels good in the end.
A very nice RPotD
