September 11th, Monday - Clean, press, pushpress volume PR

 11.09.2023

Nice day so far. Slept little, ate okay. Had a caffeine pill once I woke up, a small moka, now an average sized moka. Slept way too little, admittedly - was feeling strangely nervous. And yesterday - similar issue. Fell quite randomly asleep at night, then I woke up and could not relax. I know what can help now though.

I have a feeling I'd like to go towards Week 4, Session 1 - my pression muscles are quite adept today. Not just PP - it's been spread too much. 80%, 4 sets of 4.

I went back to making today a sort of a continuation of Week 3, Session 2 - 4 sets of 5, cause there's only benefit to it and I ain't in a hurry.

Workout

Warmup - the same stuff, fron rack and overhead holds, some presses, squat variations

Clean and press (still hang clean into full squat)

20 - 50

70 - 2 sets of 1 clean and 2 presses

70 - 1 clean 5 presses

100 - 2 sets of 1 clean and 2 presses

100 - 1 clean and 5 presses. Kind of ugly, very unbalanced. I should dedicate more attention to cleans. But I'm doing better!

Also when I was doing 100 I had two fails, both times I was almost holding the bar well, but I had to drop it.

Push press (from racks)

70

100 for 4 - I wanted to do 5, but I'm not sure how many I did. There was definitely 4, but something was off

120 for 5 - decent enough, tight elastic wraps on my wrists

120 for 5 - much better, almost automatic robotic. The movement wasn't fully smooth, like I've been aiming to do (I got a curious idea that PPs should be smoother, like Klokov's, for example), but only pronounced thing is my left arm tricep lockout, else it's all smooth. Good enough! let's see if we can do more...

120 for 5 - nice and automatic again. I think my hands are more even nowadays. I have to try and film.

120 for 5 after a long break, cause I'm writing with a lot of concentration. Filmed it!

Lockout is decent. It's not as "olympic" as I hoped, but it is proper 50s style, cause going 180 degrees with your arms was considered cheating back then. At least in the press. I'll work some more on my mobility. And yeah, today is a volume PR :D
