August 27th, Sunday - Awesome workout, moving average weights but with smoothness and power! (Squat and PP)

 27.08.2023

Nice day. Not much happening. Ate well last night, ate a little bit for breakfast today. Yesterday's session got me confused a little. I'm thinking I could squat today.

Week 4, Session 2 - 4 sets of 2 with 85%. So, we could go from 170 to 180, perhaps? Sounds reasonable, although I just feel so deeply confused, somehow. It's all too weird, training like that.

August. What a time. Such a strange time. I've been overwhelmed with a feeling of "changed reality". It comes sometimes. It's sort of a creative feeling, I guess. I'd like to imagine it's the parts of my brain searching for something and not finding it.

Yesterday was an awesome day, now that I remember. My brain is restructuring itself again. It's a weird feeling. Like I'm walking in some sort of dense bright fog. It's not a very strong feeling, but it's persistent. Can anyone relate?

Drinking coffee, playing some of my country-style tiny little tunes on the classical. Played BG3 last night. I didn't like that the first thing I heard about the game was way too sensational and provocative. Well, it was also silly. The game is "modern day progressive" but it doesn't shove it your face, like Disco Elysium does, for example. It is simply ridiculous than in a supposed 1950s wartorn european-style country anyone at all would be worried about automatic weapons being used by civilians. That is just unrealistic writing and cramming of modern day problems in a timeframe that does not support it. It is only a seemingly apparent problem for the US, where the guns are all readily available anyway.

Workout

Warmup - fairly thorough, mostly lower body. Squat variations, standing scissors, calf and ankle movements.

Squat

20 and 50 still doing cool moves, such as tiptoe squat and other unnamed variations in different angles

70 for 5

100 for 5

120 for 3

150 for 3

173 for 3 - didn't feel sure if I needed to do triples or doubles. Last time I did 4 by 4, so I decided three would be okay. Also, up to here was the "quick" part of the workout (initial barbell warmup).

I feel very fresh today, nerve-wise. Soon enough, perhaps once I'm done with this particular cycle, I shall pick a much higher set of maxes for my squat. Also, this cycle still needs to be altered. I mentioned it many times, but I rarely offered conclusive solutions.

178 for 2 nice and easy

180,5 for 2 - put on wraps underknee (weightlifitng style)

183 for 2 - all easy, even with pauses in the hole. Actually, something makes me feel like pausing in the hole makes it easier for me? Curious feeling.

Push press

50 - only some warmup and holds

50 - 70 - 100 for 3 nice, connective tissues feel more or less okay.

115,3 for 3 nice, easy, more of a press-push again (that is a mistake, admittedly). Using elastic wraps for wrists, not completely sure about them.

118 for 3 nice, all strict. I think I now have enough flexibility to hold the bar more evenly. Put on wrist wraps, but this time in a way so that they don't cross over to the palm, only under palm. Push does not feel very velocious, but thankfully it's still smooth enough. (Thankfully to whom? To God, of course!)

120,5 for 3 very easy and even 😀 I'm very happy about this set and I hope it'll stay.

I noticed I'm sending the bar more overhead, i.e. more "back", closer to the center of mass. Let's hope it's not accidental success.

121,1 for 3 very nice and smooth. Thank God, now and forever!
