August 26th - Low discipline, cut down my OHP session

 26.08.2023

Nice day. Woke up very early after I fell asleep early yesterday. Had a lovely moderate sized breakfast. I assumed I was going to sleep some more and played BG3. It's a lot of fun, and I was stuck at one combat encounter for a while (Toll house). My party members were all level 3, so I don't know if it was supposed to be hard or I just came early. Playing on normal difficulty. I went back to sleep, which was very deep and pleasant and did not want to let go of me. Woke up a little too late, had a small amount of carbs and now I'm having my one coffee. I shall stick to one for today. The workout could be done before midnight.

Week 2, Session 2 altered (volume split and increased between PP and OHP). Remember when I used to do a lot of cleans? I'd love to go back to that, perhaps. So, it's 4 sets of 3 with 82,5%. Hmm... 105-107 for OHP, and 120-128 for PP? Reasonable, perhaps. We shall see. Well, I know I can do all that. But I might end up putting the bar on the racks before my working weight on OHP. Well, I also know that hypothetically I can clean 107 easily enough. So, we shan't give up on that.

Some time later. About the time I'd like to start. Well, I have some more time. I have one small cup left - which is about a third of all moka pot volume, but I really want to make another cup, an extra one.

I like this site a lot. I wish wikitonary was as good as this, content-wise, cause it's easier to read wiktionary. Life is a complex thing, it's sad to me that wikipedia is not controlled by, well, "neutral" people. That's one place where there should be diversity and no one should have control. It's actually in their own principles. I used to be really into wikipedia about 14 years ago. Writing, helping, editing, but also being really cringe cause I was young. I guess it felt so meaningful? As a kid, I loved reading and rereading many kids' encyclopedias. Could have been a proper nerd! The best I can be now is a "fun fact" guy, hehe. Not putting myself down, just making a tiny joke.

And, by the way, it's been 9 weeks since, well, something good happened for me. It changed my life in a good way. It doesn't seem like much, but now I am not as afraid of dying, I guess. An internal thing? Well, there is an internal component. Wouldn't call it a "new life", but I am much more free now.

Okay, so I'll go ahead and make a small pot coffee. A cupful.

Workout

Prolonged laid back warmup - front rack and overhead holds, presses, squat variations

Clean and press

50 - 3 cleans, 9 presses

70 - 1 clean, 3 presses

Had to take a possibly distracting break

103 - one failed clean, 1 really ugly clean - did not rotate arms inside, but still chose to rise with the bar in my hands a-la overhand curl

103 - another fail, almost

103 - 1 clean and 3 presses

My mistake is still not opening up fully. I'm trying to be efficient and ducking down quickly when I feel the bar, but since I don't open fully it's starting to drift down so I can't catch it into proper front rack. This time I opened fully and pulled high, so it might have looked a lot like a power clean into squat (exactly like I did on Monday).
The press was hard, really out of the groove, but it's not a small weight regardless of my max, so I'm okay with that.

Overhead press

105,5 for 3 - from the rack. Tore my old leather wrists supports (accidentally). They finally wore out. And I didn't need them. This set was a little awkward but very powerful, all movement smooth and fast, wrist did not hurt. Hallelujah!

108 for 2 and two half presses - feels very nice, despite the fail. My pressing muscles are in a great shape, but I have not reestablished my pressing groove and my torso feels very awkward. I decided to just stop today and finish this workout later. I've done a semi-decent amount of volume.
