Saturday, July 29th - Lack of discipline, pushpresses, perseverance, nice squat

 29.07.2023

Very nice day. Had fun for way too long yesterday. But I ate very well. Today, we have PPs and squats. I had two coffees so far, and a cup of a refreshing liquid that I tried to make. More soda experiences. I accidentally poured most of it in the sink as I tried to transport into the bottle from the pan, because I was high on caffeine and did not bother to control my internal desire towards comedy. I put one 200mg caffeine pill into it, so I only got about 10-15% of it and I also did not get the chance to carbonate it. Hmm. That's okay.

I was really wishing to start earlier today. And I might. just a little bit. I still have some time for my third coffee that I yearn for so much. In the end, my body develops a strong enough tolerance to coffee, but it fluctuates indirectly, because it is tied to my training exertion. My body, purely consequentially knows to drink less or resist it more on days when I don't need it (lighter days). I only do take it 4 days a week.

Again, from Thursday plans - Week 11, Session 2 - 85% for 3, and 90% for 3 sets of 2.
130 for 3 and 140 for 3 sets of 2.

Workout

Warmup - reasonable, mostly front rack and overhead stretches

Clean and press (one press this time)

50 - 3 sets

60 - 3 sets

At first I was doing it with an even grip, but ultimately had to switch back to the unever (right hand more to the side)

Some jumping. Managed to touch the beam in the garage ceiling with both middle fingers as I jumped.

Push press

60 for 3

100 for 3 knees a little creaky

A break, added some more leg warmup and stretching (only natural careful angles within the confines of  the squat, no splits and such)

130 fail, didn't push right due to pain in the wrist and forearm. Perhaps I'm speeding...

110 for 3 okay. Had to take a break after first rep, then it got better.
It got better. I just have to not put in on myself, but still hold it, being the inflatable castle. The bar has to have a bouncy feeling in my hands.

Also I might want to stretch my lat a bit more next time.

125,5 for 3 - okay, nice enough. On the last rep I didn't have a very stable torso, but I did lock out my arms properly.

I guess I'm using my minimax/supermax training doctrine and I'm just gonna lower the working weight a bit, all despite my expectations.

135,5 fail, bar went forward
For some inane reason I wore my belt differently and my feet were sliding around in my weightlifting shoes because I'm a massive slob who didn't choose to wear fresh socks for the training session. Oh well.

I'm really lacking discipline. When I don't say this that usually means I have at least some. Today is the result of having too little discipline. Short term or long term - they are, however, influenced by different factors. Today we're lacking short term discipline.

135,5 for 1 - alright, that was better.

Lockout was shaky, but I managed. I guess, volume-wise we've already gone a little too far, with the fails and misplaced warmup, so I shall do one more (as opposed to two more). And it is, in fact, a 90% of the weight I wanna lift.

135,5 - one fail first. I got too adrenalized as I listened to Dawn Of Battle. I failed cause my legs were all shaky. I waited a little, and got my belt tighter, and prayed some more. So, then I did one rep. Once again, not a proper once, but I got my arms and now I allow myself to consider it a rep. It's somewhat impressive, overcoming so much failure. Let it not drain you!

Squat - I do have energy, after all!

103 for 5

123 for 5

143 for 5

Here I might have done a set of 153 for 5

155,5 for 5

155,5 - 2 sets of 5 - wearing wraps below the knee.

I really wanted to make an easy looking speedy set without having to stand and breathe between each rep, and I did on the final set, but that wasn't right, cause on the last rep it lead to a careless technical mistake as the weight shifted to the big toe on my left foot and my knee went too far forward. That, however, was overcome with some grimacing and further pushing.

Feels very nice. It's 3:15 AM. How does that happen? No idea.

PLaying/writing Marco's story. Writing more on my own! New ideas. I suspect there will be a great amount of overwriting and rewriting... So if I want to make it mine I can reclaim it. So far it's gameplay and practicing to use LLMs.

After viewing my squat videos a few times I now must say that I need to learn to lower my body in between my legs better, the back has been rounding a lot down in the hole.
