Saturday, June 17th - Squats, deeper than ever

 17.06.2023

Nice day. This Friday (yesterday) I experienced the real second day fatigue, was pretty tired. Something like this hasn't happened in a while. That's okay now.

Worked in the morning, it was all nice, slept some. It's pretty warm, but not as hot as last two summers. Woke up, gave a physical culture to the kids again. Went upstairs to have my coffee and prepare mentally (or just enjoy myself). Then I had some more time away, so it's 11 PM again. This time it's not as much of my fault, hehe. Still yearning to "change my lifestyle". I'm worried the agency I've contacted last time might be permanently closed and my papers which I've spent quite a while gathering might be lost. *sighs* If only things turned out differently. I could have been dead gloriously already, hehehe. And I mean gloriously, people calling me a hero and such. Don't worry, I'm not going there to die. In fact, it's better if I think I'm gonna chill (obviously untrue, but it's subjective, you know? Chill most of the time, work well when you need to. I know for a fact it's fun for some people, so much fun they can not lead a civilian life. And today my brain is overflown with dopamine, so I wanna do everything. So much to do, so little time, hehe. Played guitar, tried playing through Passage Ritual and realized I'm very, very bad. Sure, I can still sort of play but I'm out of so many things. How did this happen? Might wanna get back to it. But I'd rather go, if I can. It's gonna be so shocking to everyone, maybe even trumatic. Or not. Either way, I don't look too nice for leaving my family. But I don't feel like I'm being treated very nicely, so what can I say? I don't get no respect.

Yesterday I got that xbox 360 gamepad. Very cheap, kind of really garbage, I tell you. The springs and sensitivity are so bad. But, you know, I'll give it a shot. I wonder if the ones I had on normal xbox are the same and I just have selective memory.

It's been way too long. I'm not sure what I can do today.

Week 9, Session 2 - working up to 4 sets 3 with 82,5%. So, the working weight could be around 170 to 200. Pretty big spread, you know. And I wanna do the proper pause in the bottom. The pause isn't meant to be relaxed, realistically, the pause is just very much slowed down movement. That's how it's meant to be. That's a good way to train - you must stay in control in the bottom of the squat. And I need to not stick ou my hips joints when I squat. That's the best I can describe it - it's kind of a weird movement I picked up at some point, and now I have to give it up because it seems to overstretch muscles around itself.

Workout

Warmup

Clean (squat clean)

20 for 3

60 - I think I did around 7 singles, they all felt good, each one better than the last

Squat - very much ATTG

60 for 4

100 for 4

130 for 4 - all reps I've been doing slow, sort of pausing in the hole, but on the last rep here I tried to sort of bounce it and I really felt my left ankle (where the surgery was). Not painful, but really tight. And I'm still very happy about my reformed right hamstring :D

150 for 4

170 for 3

170 for 3 very nice, very easy, even if I still have to "lean" on my abs. Still ATTG.

180 for 3 real ugly but ok

180 for 3 - a-la 2+1 - first two ugly again, then I figured out what I was doing wrong and did a good one.

The wrong that I've been doing is putting too much pressure onto the bar with my arms. It should be minimal! So you don't roll the bar forward on your back when you're squatting up. And someone like me definitely shouldn't "pull down" on the bar, that's rere stuff. That's the problem with stupid yt shorts - by defeinition the stuff you see in shorts is stupid cause they are short. Not enough nuance, not enough context. Randomly scrolling through yt, see that sq university video where he, a scrawny but perhaps athletic guy explain you how to squat. And I do wanna do it the way it's done for weightlifting. But he is a walking stick and his arms aren't made of wood like mine. So, just by putting my arms on the bar I'm pulling on it way too hard. And when I put conscious pressure on it it's even worse, cause it rolls around. Just not nuanced enough. He should be paying one of his big athletes to tell the stories. And make them think for him too, while we're at it. Cause it's just too different.

Bench - working on those wrist joints

60 - 2 sets of 8

100 - 2 sets of 8 - joints felt better by the end.

Overhead press - 20 for 30 reps - feels good, pumping

Curls

16 kg kettlebell for 15 and 25, grip by the body - nut as much for bicep, but for all muscles deep in forearms. I feel like it's getting the part near the elbow that I need.
