May 22nd, Monday - Light PP singles, OHP comes back
22.05.2023
Nice day. Calm. Sleep - 7/10, food - nutrition 55/100. Enough nutrients, not enough variety, it feels like. Been binging on Sims 3. Brain feels a tiny bit depleted. It was quite a debauchery week last week. Heavy workouts on monday, wednesday and thursday. And week before that - roughly the same.
Now I'm enjoying my first coffee. I outlined my PP in the last post. Upper body has been somewhat stiff, some lactic acid. Once again, have to do pullups more often. I'm actually quite please to realise they're much easier than I think of them. After all, I'm not even 115 kgs (I'm around 108 right now). I better be in really good shape when I'm 115... I reckon it might happen this summer.
I love looking out of my window. Open world. It's a small thunderstorm out there now. Inspiring.
Yesterday I player guitar so much. Mostly improvising, but coming up with a lot of structured stuff. Skin came off my left index finger - that means I played a lot. Ernie Balls' "Not even slinkies" are the best around D Standart, imho. If action is low enough. I mean, no matter how much of a shredder you are, you have to agree that a tight string sounds way better than a wobbly loose one.
In Sims 3, I inevitably switched my town to a longer lifespan. All the initial townies started dying from old age. There are now great-grandchildren. And the town I picked has a great amount of houses, way too many. Imagine if this game more optimized to itilize modern PCs. We could have towns with thousands of characters, all of them with their own little life story and character. But what we have here is close. More than a hundred people in this town. A lot of wacky stuff. Pretty addicting, yet so basic, compared to modern day games.
Also, I managed to run a PSP emulator and play the Sims 2 game on it. Much easier than expected. Of course, without the device itself, it's not as nostalgic. But still, it hits there, somewhere deep in my brain. Somehow the music was better back then. When I had a more malleable mind. Heh. No wonder. I loved all music in Sims 2 and didn't like most in Sims 3 when I played. It was hard to begin playing Sims 3, cause I had different expectations when i bought it. Oh, what a time. I bought the leaked pirated version before the initial release. Bought it on the train platform, back iun the day when police didn't remove them. Then I bought the real one in a store. What a time (strange time it was). Nostalgic.
Nostalgia is supposed to mean "old wound". It's strange, how we all have this feeling. It does feel somewhat similar to when you lick the battery. Hmm. I feel dumb today. (What, just today? Haha.)

Played guitar a little. Feeling something. I've been experimenting with a cool scale that sounds awkward. Harmonic Minor with a Major 6th. Or Dorian with a Major 7th (that's the way I thought of it). It sounds super awkward, like pondering and guessing things but not coming to a conclusion, except that you must think more.
I just realised it's melodic minor. Lol. I knew that it reminded me of something. Luckily, I'm not the only one.

All this time I never knew that monitor literally can't show me more than 60 FPS. Oh, the depths of ignorance. 60hz refresh rate means 60 fps maximum. Well, now I know.
In the store page, however, it says it's 75. But my settings tell me it's only 60.
Workout
Week 8, Session 2
Warmup - some, mostly upper body
Overhead press
20
60 - 70 - 80 - 90 for 4 reps
100 for 3 - wanted to do more (four reps), but the feeling, the movement stereotype is sort of gone. Out of the "groove", if you will. It's been a very long time since I've had a powerful OHP session. Perhaps we'll start bringing it back a-la oldschool, like today - as the first exercise.
Some leg warmup
Pushpress
100 for 3
110 for 3
115 for 3
120 for 1 felt easy. I realised I could do my singles in one set, so I sped up.
125 for 1 alright
128 for 1 - very nice, even movement, better than I expected. Don't forget that the warmup is supposed to be hard!
My right side, the muscle around my right shoulder is lacking in stability. I exprimented with the grip again, remembering that not only are my shoulders different, but all of my right arm is bigger than left in every dimension - not only shoulder, but elbow, wrist and hand. So if I take the grip that seems even I might actually be loading much more on my right. So, I tried moving my right hand more to the right side. It felt way better (on 60 kgs, however).
Overhead hold
60 kg - 2 sets for 120 counts (I was counting quickly, so I've no idea how long it lasted, but I had to make it 120). It was difficult in the last moments, and my right arm got way more loaded despite the changed grip. Hope it helped.
And that's about it. Perhaps I'll do something else? I feel more fatigued that I have been in a while. But it might be psychological. Or both.
Squats
PVC pipe - 1 set of 30
Wooden stick - 2 sets of 30 feels good.
