Nice day. Sleep 7/10 again. Nutrition 6/10, not bad either. Slept too long. Somehow I avoided crashing into a displeasing state yesterday after workout and gaming for a long time. And also learning. Spending over three hours to watch and consume a 40 minute lecture. And I have something similar planned for tonight, but it'll be possibly more annoying, cause it'll be a seminar and there's gonna be a lot of blank video space and the teacher helping student solve their specific problems, which might be helpful, but most of the time it isn't.
As for my workout... I'm not sure what to do. Accidentally it got aligned with my DL, so intensity might be high (80% for 4 sets of 4). However, there is an easy answer - change the intensity! But also keep it. Weird, isn't it? As much effort as you can and as much as you need - no more, no less. Sounds a little confusing, because "as much effort as you can" doesn't apply to specifically putting as much weight on a bar as possible - it applies to putting as much effort as you can in a predetermined lift, i.e. "as much as you need" - and in our case, we need to cut down the intensity very slightly .We'll start by not picking our supermax for the max calculation, but our current max (140). We have 112 kgs. Very light, arguably. And we can make it more fun by doing it as 110 - 112 - 115 - 115. Intense enough!
Workout
Some warmup
Pushpress
20 and 50 overhead press and some moves for joints. Somehow I feel like narrowing the grip today
90 for 4 okay
110 for 4 too hard, doing "presspush" again. Okay. I shall try to hold the bar more stable on the next set.
Feeling excited about doing some learning. It's like a workout... specifically for my brain! Not just my mind, but it's like I can already feel my frontal lobes moving, buzzing, pumping! Ugh!
110 for 4 way better. Better push. You gotta imagine not the movement, but the final position. And you have to use your hips. The weight has to be above the hips, not the knees. Like weightlifters. They spread their thighs for pushing.
112,8 for 4 nice, even better. Went to cook some food in advance.
112,8 for 4 okay. Filmed it, and realised my right wrist got stiffened again and I'm grasping the bar with very unever arms. Alright. Time to bring some gentle pain!
Stretching - my overhead is somewhat okay, so I decided to put some effort into my front rack. Can you imagine I front racked and held 360 kgs? My shoulders and back were very well stretched back then, 8 years ago.
Front rack hold
112,8 - 1 set
90 - 4 sets
It got better. My efforts in the recent past were not in vain. The pain went away bit by bit, there was much less in the last set and my arms and wrists were almost even, and the bar was behind my delts, on my clavicles. I had to relax most of my upper body and put some effort into activating my serratus, the rib muscle. Back in the day it would get loaded so much after every pushpress. Nowadays - not as much. Last year - it did a little. We're about a third of the way back to the decent PP which, hopefully, we will not stop doing alongside OHP. PP should become a main exercise between these two. And one day, maybe, I might introduce jerking and snatching (haha silly words).
