Saturday, February 4th - OHP, success in my positive doctrine, replacing clock with a timer
04.02.2022
Really nice day. Weird. Did not play FO4 at night, and now I have energy. Who would have thought!
Slept about 3 hours at night and then more during the day. Really nice breakfast. Nicer than I've had in over a month, but still very simple. Then I slept smoothly and calmly. And now I wake up and can't keep a smile off my face. Also worked a bit, earlier today and yesterday, it's going alright.
In FO4 the caravan network bugged out again. It was going so smoothly. But I just could not join up Croup Manor and Coastal Cottage. SS2 is unnecessary complicated. It has to make checks and I think there's a lot of corruption with the IDs of the settlements. I am not really knowledgeable about this, but I've read the forums. That cost me some in-game progress as I rerolled to the previous saves while turning off some mods. And it's clearly not the mods' fault. Oh well.
SS2 doesn't have an appropriate game engine for all those small things to work. I guess the better choice would be to play on simple difficulty, where you don't need those "virtual resources". In SS1 - the previous version - apparently there was no such thing as virtual resources. It was all normal "junk" stuff, the same as in game, and the player - the big boss - could just take it all and use it how he likes. In that sense the Commonwealth is more feudalistic, he he. I talked about it earlier in my blog. In the last two months. Just search "feudal" to find the post. I think.
And the SS2 attempts to bring in a degree of privacy - private from the player, that is. The player can only use those resources to assign the for plot-building and, supposedly, plot usage (if the scripting was capable of doing that without breaking).
I am thinking of just going back to my original save. This last playthrough was nice, yes it was. It was really hard for once. About 50 hours or more, day by day. Level 52. In the end it became super easy, of course. And it can be even more easy if you make a minmaxed stealth/agility build. I played with a flavor build.
And I'm thinking of going back to my original save. It's got some of the coolest builds and towns. Almost level 200. And the SS2 questline is beaten. Part one was nice, part two, honestly, is mid. Characters are too cartooney, unlike vanilla FO4 characters. They should have written Jake to be a bit more rough around the edges. Like he'd make fun of the player character for being stupid. That's the impression I was getting from him. Well, at first. Other characters are poorly designed. All the women added by this mod have frickin anime-sized eyes. I mean, it's a well made mod, don't get me wrong. But it's unnecessarily complicated in it's gameplay elements. Don't even try to play with max resource complexity, I warned ya. Kinggath - the mod developer - has started to play it in hardcore mode. Good choice on his part. He keeeps encountering mistakes and whispering to himself that it has to be fixed and he'll look into it later. Honestly, it's understandable. He's going an autistic mind that loves digging in small details. A lot like mine. Funny how in the west "autistic" has become sort of a positive trait. Just like "idiot savant" perk in FO4. Only to be expected. I don't know if I'm autistic and at this point I don't want to care about it. I am myself, and it's irrelevant to me if I am like other people or not. To be fair, there are no symptoms. The abnormal things I have are more of a sign or something like adrenaline imbalance or something. Too easily excited. It was hard in the university, because whenever I had to speak before the class I was very excited and it really interfered with my ability to stay on track. It was good enough most of the time, however. Easily excited. Enthusiastic. Not always deep into things, admittedly. Sometimes deep.
Back to talking about gaming and modding. Yes, unnecessary complication. Cartoonish writing not in line with vanilla style (takes you out of immersion). Bugs. Not enough playtesting. Well, that's point №1. The incredibly dumb and unnecessary HQ system. Yes, it's interesting. But you don't really do anything at all in HQ. All you do is choose the order of things to happen in. You don't make any impactful choices at all. I'd be satisfied with automatic cleanup and everyone settling in their preferred rooms. And then I'd be able to decorate/rebuild it as if it was a normal settlements. It should have been a normal settlement that had free electiricity and water. The elements should have been minimized. If you want to make a detailed painting you need a massive canvas. And FO4 is a tiny freaking canvas. I wish that Kinggath would find himself a job in Bethesda. Let him add those small elements in FO5 if it ever comes out, and let Todd Howard curb his enthusiasm in the wisest of ways. You may not agree with me, but with time you'll understand. And you definitely will understand if you tried to play SS2 the way I did. Did I mention I tried playing it on hardcore difficulty last time? Yes I did.
So, I think I'll be going back to my original longplay that I started in January 2021. It's probably really corrupted, let's be real... Too many mods.
~~~
All of this is kind of a distraction, however. I'm having a nice workout today. Enjoying coffee. Being able to enjoy coffee is a great gift.
I think I wanna do the same thing I did last time. 105 - 5 sets of 4. So, my OHP is ognna be one session behind my DL now. Might wanna lower the weight. Overall energy is great, but shoulders aren't in great shape, since I've done nothing fopr them for the whole week. Honestly, the amount of overall lifts I've done this week is very low. I've done overall nice but tired squats on monday, and I had great DL on wednesday. I've been just too wary, trying to save my energy. I should do the opposite for one. AND I did not even work out on thursday at all! How wacky.
Played my new amp with my brother. It sounds good with the heavy strings, low tuning. Not so with my D-tuned SQUE. Maybe I should just call it "my strat", but it's it. It's got a fixed bridge, not a strat bridge. It can sound okay. It sounds better on higher notes. I think the neck pickup on it is more powerful, if that makes sense.
It's almost midnight, yet I will work out.
Workout
Warmup - not very long
Overhead press
20 - 40 - 70 - 90 for 5+ - not very confident, but not that hard
95 for 4 - pretty easy, joints creaky. Enjoying music.
A little distracted as I'm looking over my old FO4 save. Heh.
100 for 4 - a little creaky, but kind of easy. Don't treat a light weight like a light weight! And this isn't even light, to be honest. In my best shape I should be able to ohp this for more than 12 reps. Hmm.
102,8 for 4
105,3 for 4
105,6 for 4 - nice. Technique isn't that perfect, and my thumb still hurts, but I'm really satisfied.
Fiddling around. Typical after-training self-introspection, long monologues about human nature, small emotional outbursts as I'm trying to come to terms with my perceived mortality.
But guess what? Since my decision to reutilize my positive doctrine things have been getting better. Sure, I've been feeling lost. But the doctrine is working. I wrote a lot about it at the start of this blog. It works. And it's really contrasted in comparison to autumn with december and most of january. I was really negative, and even voluntarily negative. Not I am the opposite. And it will be more efficient.
Now, it is succesful. Now when I try to smile I can feel it being genuine. Not only am I genuinely trying, but I feel like smiling. Strong men can allow themselves to smile. Great. Good choice, I believe.
One arm press - it's actually 1 AM 😁
12 for 20 - 3 sets - feels good. Controlled negatives, as if I'm expecting the weight to become heavier suddenly. More control.
I made a decision to stop using Windows clock app and instead downloaded a timer. Cause I just need a timer. Less annoying that way. But it'll take getting used to.
Random picture of the day
There's something about this building that makes me love it. I don't know what it is. But it's awesome.
