August 31st - Some DL, more guitar work, starting on the neck

 31.08.2022

Very nice day so far. Slept well, actually at night. Yesterday, however, I didn't sleep at night or in the morning, only a little bit during the day and the evening. Got woken up by a grocery delivery. The deliveryman was lost and thought I stole the drinks when I carried them out from his car and he couldn't find a tag on the box. And also because my order was split in two. Maybew he was a noob. I'm tempted to feel insulted, although I've been in his place too many times - lost and confused while trying to do something right. And it was late at night. Just a little memory.

Late at night I sanded and painted the guitar once again. That's the first of four remaining layers I wish to do. After that that'll definitely be too much, I reckon. And I think I oughta try sanding less violently. Perhaps I'm removing too much every time. That's what I thought right after, and so I sanded the sides in a much more gentle fashion. I think I'll cover the body with cardboard and paint it from the sides to create a burst. I've seen someone do it.

Also I finally received the guitar neck from China. They both - the neck and the body - seem very similar to my SQOE, dimensions vise. Fitting the neck and gluing it in really sems like a tremendous task. Also I wish to keep the natural finish on it, only stain it with some conventional wood colors. Maybe light in the middle, slightly darker outside. I wonder if the wood glue that I have  should be suitable. And I have a suspicion I might have to cut down the heel of the neck. The seems identical to the one on SQOE, except for the head, of course. The neck, I believe - at least the "face" on the head can be painted with the acrylic and lacquer. And I'd like to fit some kinda cool decoration inlay on the head.

Six o'clock. Pretty late already. Doesn't feel like it. Not used to this time perception.

It's gonna be hard to combine DL and singing. They really fatigue each other. I love how much more proficient I've become at DL this year. I feel so confident. I wish not to lose it. It's in my utmosts interents to improve it. I reckon you could imagine it as an "XP gain multiplier" if like was like a game, he he (XP - experience).

Workout

Deadlift

My quick warmup

20

50 for 8

90 for 8

130 for 4

180 for 4

230 for 5 quite casually. Feels good.

Started working on the neck. Put painter's tape on the fretboard and face. Started sanding the rest. Realised that the layer on it is really thin. I think I should the neck joint part with tape as well. Breathed in some dust. Do not like.

240 for 5 less casually, kind of hard. I realise I might be leaning towards good ol' egolifting again, considering how different this is from what I'd be doing by now if I was following a program. I don't have as much confidence in these weights, because I've not accumulated enough volume.

More guitar work. Sanded the body down manually, as well as the neck. Neck only got very light sanding, cause it's so easy to reach wood on it. But it made the paint not stick as well. Or, perhaps, I just overpoured. The body has gotten better. I won't be doing any strong sanding on it for the remaining two layers.

90 - 2 sets of 8 - very wide grip Dl

After painting my throat feels not so good. Energy - dropped. Overall pretty nice though. Wanna some little exercises. I need to amp up oldschool style if I wanna be creative while working out. That means only taking about an hour for coffee. And, honestly, not working out too intensely most days. I have the maxing out microcycle left in my puhspress program. I have to be really considerate. It's about about three weeks, maybe four, depending on CNS load. We'll be trying to PP a big weight.

p.s. Added a video of DL
