September 19th - Fixing bench and legs, done painting the G310
19.09.2022
Nice day so far. Sleep - 55/100 (not bad). Nutrition - 7/10, same as CNS recovery. Didn't do much yesterday. Worked today. Had a really nice first coffee, having a second one now.
I've been managing to work on my song the whole last week. I swear, at some point I'll be able to work on music faster. I believe that. Not been playing any video gaems. It's weird. I'm an adult, and I have periods when I play games quite obsessively and periods when i don't play anything at all. Been reading a good old philosophy textbook. It blows my mind whenever I try to read anything from there. There's always some curious observations that make me go on a thought tangent.
Coffee's making me feel good today. On saturday it didn't. Now I know why - I just didn't get enough sleep. I was eager to start my workout and get it over with. Is such desire a sign of underlying fatigue? Cause normally I like to take a long time having my coffee, doing music stuff, etc.
Realistically, what are the things that I have to do everyday? Work, work out, eat and sleep. The rest of the time can be devoted to music. In 2019, before I learned to play real instruments, I used to write pretty random stuff in Musescore. There's so much stuff. So much memory. I wish I had someone to share it with.
Workout
Short all-around warmup.
Bench press
20
50 for 15 feels okay. Mobility still limited.
70 for 15
80 for 12
100 - 4 sets of 12 - narrowed my grip, feels okay. On the last set I almost felt a tweak in my right upper pec, but thankfully, it was nothing.
50 - 2 or 3 sets of 15 - narrow grip, a bit like JM press. Feels good.
Olympic stretching with 50 - three sets. I can hold it on my fingertips with wide grip, then it can be on my collarbone, in my neck. I think I absoilutely must avoid forced stretching. It makes me weak. Chemerkin jerked from his hands, and many others did, including Doug Hepburn. Well, he didn't do it conventionally.
Step ups onto a porch, trying to maintain the least bothersome position
3 sets of 10 (or more), each leg. It got better and better for my joints. Such a great exercise! In some ways it might be even better than squats. I MUST do more of it!
Preparing the guitar for the next stage. The whole thing took five cans of different paints! It's unique. Forget the word "bad". Nothing is bad if no one calls it bad, he he. Beginner experience.
Degreased it one last time. I plan to give it a gentle polish over a few days. Just cloth and a very moderate amount of base cleaner. Don't want it too shiny. It's already veyr shiny.
After I took off the painter's tape I realised that it tore off some paint from the edges, close to the fretboard, and the old finish is showing. Hmm. Live and learn. My next guitar project is going to be stained, not painted. I want natural finish.
