September 10th, Saturday - Climax of a poor week, micro PR, lacquering the neck, running out of paint

 10.09.2022

Kind of a weird day. Slept all day yesterday, even though I got enough sleep at night. I keep wondering if I might be a little ill. It feels like I got water in my right ear. Woke up around 3 AM today. Kept going between watching youtube and trying to sleep. Overall, I was quite excited for today, cause it's PP day. A heavy workout.

Today's workout is 65% for 5, 75 for 5, 82 for 2, 90 for 3 sets of 2 and 92 for 1.

So it's gonna be roughly 100 for 5, 112 for 5, 122 for 2, 135-140 for 3 sets of 2 and 142 for 1.

Feeling sleepy now. My sleep is just a mystery. I wonder if I have something draining my energy from within. I've not been staying up late or playing anything.

---

Not as sleepy as I thought. Finishing my second coffee. 16:32. Played guitar a lot. Mostly noodling, some music theory. I think I'm going to write a song using Melodic minor. The root will be on the third fret of the lowest string. That'll make it D once again. How curious. C Minor and it's variations are romantic sounding, less epic, if you will. Not whining, but more gentle, I guess. D is different. E is more straightforward. B is pretty heavy, cause it's mostly associated with Locrian.

Did a tiny bit of practice too. I ought listen to Monolord more. They sound a lot like I'd like to sound. And their name is similar to Manowar too xD

I am so upset as the seeming lack of inspiration. It used to be different. I couldn't stop it from coming out. Now I'm forcing it. Sounds funny, ha ha. Not enough passion. Undergone transformation. Took too long, changed too much. Having my third coffee. Finishing it. About to go and lift.

A warmup of an experienced lifter is painful and bothersome - because his organism knows that it's not yet the time to utilize full resources! An experienced lifted doesn't get adrenaline from his warmups. He just knows they're light and supposed to be light, but get a natural response from them.

Workout

Warmup - joints and connective tissue all hurting, feeling like paper 😁

Overhead press

27 - 20 - 50

70 for 5 creaky

80 for 5 okay

Pushpress

50 for 2 hands sliding

90 for 2

Quite some drumming.

100 for 5 okay

112 for 5

Started finsihing touches on G310 body.

112 for 2 even better - forgot to add 10 😁

122 for 2 okay

Applied the first ever layer of lacquer to the neck. Still doing the final touchups on the body.

135 for 2 okay. Got unsure on the second push, paused, had a slow long lockout on the second rep. Right wrist didn't bend back the same way as left. Must pay attention...

137,8 for a push - fail.

I got rushed by adrenaline and my CNS energy ran out. I had to stop.

Let's talk about my mistakes -

Number one - shitty week. CNS strain, pointless prolonger stress. Doesn't matter if I might be having some kind of seasonal illness or not. Energy got wasted. Yesterday got wasted - slept all day, did not sleep enough today. My adrenaline levels befroe the workout were lowered. That's two issues.

Another one - might have played guitars for too long. That takes energy away. Drumming, especially without ear covers - same. Painting the guitar - same. Sore throat.

Third point - surprisingly hard DL on wednesday. Overall it was okay, but I did get strained massively, and I was since last week. Today I've lost some more of that psychological strain, raised myself a bit off the ground. That's good.

Nutrition - today it was okay, yesterday, due to wrongful sleep - bad. I have to stop sleeping during the day, even just a little bit. Resting - okay, sleeping - not so much.

Another point - definitely took too long today.

Further - screwed up (literally) angles while gripping the bar. It has to do with my wed-thurst workouts. Strained lats, stretched shoulders on the squat. Fatigued leg tissue.

Counter point - today was okay overall. I did enough within my alloted volume. And I set a mini PR 😃 I've never done 135,3 for a double, especially having to press it out awfully like I did, doing the helicopter. So, today feels like a win, victory in the strenuous weeklong battle.

And I managed to fix our electric kettle that's getting broken. Cleaned the connector, and it boiled water for me. Something smelled like it was burning though, must be careful.

---

I think I'll do my DL on monday, and some bench and very light squats. And on wednesday I'll do heavier squats. Should be great. OHP too, just somehow. And with a barbell, not light dumbbells.

No parking 😁 I took as a sign, jokingly superstitiously, because I wasn't going to park. (When I was talking to myself about music inspiration today).
