August 1st - Light workout, bench and squat

 01.08.2022

Nice day. Nutrition - plentiful. Impulsively ordered takeout yesterday. Supporting the chain that stayed here, ha ha. And they got better - the hamburgers weren't as dry this time. Sleep - also alright. Weird dreams. Recovery - great. Did a tiny bit of shoulder gymnastics yesterday. They felt tight.

Wasn'r sure what I'm gonna lift today. But I think I know. I'll do bench. Should be nice. And squat too. Before that I shall take my time. Actually want to record music. Played the SG acoustically. Felt that strings are grimy again. Wiped them. It'd take ten minutes of playing to finish this. I've not come up with the lyrics yet. I had a couple moments in the previous months when I felt like I had them in my mind. I should have writted them down as quickly as possible.

I wish I managed all the "forgotten exercises" better. Right now I'm managing squat alright, doing it often enough. It only I did pushups and bench more often, no matter how light - they'd be better. But, of course, they are still quite secondary. I'll be finishing my PP program and doing heavier squats this august. And in september, hopefully, starting that powerlifting program. All around.

Had three coffees. Pretty smooth. That means I might want to recover intensively tomorrow. Don't want to leave lasting fatigue for wednesday. I'm likely to be angry and irritated on wednesday. Likely. Not certain.

Workout

Bench press

Some warmup

20 and 60

90 for 10

100 for 8

110 for 6

120 for 5 nice pump. I didn't take long breaks. I wanted to get slightly heaveir weights today, but also stay in the range that allows for energy accumulation (i.e. fives). I think it should be nice.

One arm press - we'll see if this really helps my PP mobility on wed

16 for 10

27 kg ez bar for 10 - really made me work my obliques and balance. I used to be so good a this exercise in 2020. May wanna bring it back at some point, seeing how my overall overhead power improved a lot.

Squats

2 sets of 10 reps bw

60 - 90 - 110 for 10

Felt fatigued. Realized I'm taking a lot of time again. Well, good enough for today. Energy accumulation accomplished. A little bit of accessory done. Legs will be stronger. This week I'm gonna squat a much heavier weight for easy ten reps. Or at least I'll claim it's easy, ha ha.

On wednesday we'll be doing pushpress, 4 sets of 6, going from 110 to 117. Heavy? Probably not. But heavier than before. 75% of around the max.

Feeling great. Breathing air. Playing AID, gonna play some FO76.

Remember this day? https://4n09.blogspot.com/2022/05/18.html A pretty great day, honestly. A day I realised that something has changed. I mean, I really understood it. Interesting experience. And the screenshot I captured sort of represents it. So curious. More confident. Further ahead. Straightforward. No surface level BS. Straight metal.

So, it's taking me some time to reshape the other things I do. The change isn't radical, for I've been waiting for it. Given the opportunity, I might change further. I might turn out to be burdensome, but I'll claim it was worth it.
