June 26-27, Sunday and Monday - Fixing up my discipline a tiny bit, decent deadlift

 26.06.2022

You know what I just realised? I need to train slow deadlift/squat etc. too! All of my deadlifts were fast, that's why I never got a feeling of more than "RPE 8". But it's easier to move a heavy wighter slower, isn't? There's gotta be some correct logic here. I know powerlifters use paused reps. I'll be doing some of that stuff soon and when I'll be doing the powerlifter program. Tomorrow I just have deadlifts. I think I wanna do 170 - 2 sets of 12. It's going alright. I got enough sleep and enough food. Should be good, provided I don't get too "distracted".

27.06.2022

Nice day. Slept a bit. Don't have any lessons today. Hot humid weather. Decent breakfast. Felt a little sleepy, but didn't fall asleep. That means I got enough. Having the first coffee. It's 5:34 PM.

I've been succesfully recording the song in the last two days. Feels very satisfying and meaningful. I've been doing it late at night.

I let the water sputter on this portion. Turned out a little acidic/bitter. Not purely bitter. Hmm.

I really wish I could sleep at nights and do my good creative stuff during the day or evening. I'm tired of night, although I'm definitely very used to them. Very calm. No people around. Maybe I prefer nights because I need quiet and solitude. The nights are ever so sweeter when you don't stay up every night. And it's much easier to sleep during the night. The weather is, well, summer. (yes, htis uis a correct enough sentence).

Finishing the second batch. Getting the right kind of inspiration. Every image I see provokes a colorful outburst of hormones in my frontal lobes. Playing AI Dungeon a little bit 😉

Been watching The Boys 4th season. You know, I seeing more poor writing. Some of this gory provocative stuff is just there for attantion, for sensationalism. Good show though, overall. Stimulating. Makes you think. Makes you care for the characters, especially bad ones for some reason. Well, almost everyone in show is "human to the bone", he he. Even the innocent main character gets corrupted a tiny bit, cause he's experiencing emotions.

7 PM. Hmm. I so want more coffee. How quickly can I train today? I woke up at 3 after six hours of sleep, what are my chances of falling asleep while it's still dark? I have some work to do tomorrow. Not too much, but just enough. Actually, I will naturally be waking up early tomorrow to do my work. Let's hope my clients aren't gonna grow lazier from all this maddening heat.

I guess I'll make a quick coffee and start around 7:30. Pray I'll finish before 9. Today's agenda: deadlift 170 for 2 sets of 12 reps, ≥200 kgs for a couple singles. Hey, the emoji menu on windows has special symbols! No longer do I need to access the app, eh? Ha ha.

19:35 ⌛ Starting my warmup!

Deadlift

20-50-100-150 for 8 - all done quickly. I thought of doing it all in one set and almost managed it, but got distracted cleaning up. I thought to myself: "If I do em all together it's gonna feel pretty much like doing just 150 for 8 with light stuff before it." Cool psychological trick, he he. Starting to sweat buckets. Summertime!

170 for 12 nice

Drummed some, feels good. I really have to re-watch some of the old lessons.

170 for 12 nice again. Rather short break between sets. Liver hurted for a couple minutes. Fun. All reps nice and speedy, accelerated, no grinders.

210 for 1 - Made it a "paused" rep, by pausing for a nanosecond (or longer) after lifting off the floor, then ripping it up

220 for 1 - Nice, a little better, I think. The pause looked more a slowed movement tbh 😁

Unloaded the plates really quickly. Nice pumping cardio, he he. And I think I managed to finish my garage sets before 9 PM. Victory of discipline!

Remember how I told you I get so stimulated by seeing any detailed picture? I was looking at so many. Now I'm a bit dimmer, of course. My PC shook again, messing up my graphics card, so i reinstalled the drivers for second time today, and taped the monitor cable adapter to the table, suspecting it to be the culprit. Must not shake the floor in my room. Or, perhaps, I need to buy a decent desk. Something heavy and long. Something I can put my feet under. Hmm. Maybe a desk with a cutout. That would be rad. Realistically, it'd be so much fun to make your own, provided you have the materials. Develop the skills along the way. Hmm. I don't have materials. Eh.

Later

Carried a heavy bag upstairs, hit it for a while, learning a couple combos from a cool guy on the internet. British guy. First I was doing good ol' 1-2 combos, then i think I learned 1-2-3-4 - Jab, straight, left hook and left to the body. Another combo from close distance - uppercut and left hook. I can feel that the bag is taking a tiny bit of damage. But I'm not using gloves tho lol. So, realistically, I'm just not hitting as hard as I could have if I used gloves. And when you think about it - gloves are a weapon, he he. Allow you to hit very hard. I finished on that 1234 combo. Pretty cool. Tried both hitting hard and hitting fast without much impact. I think it can with your skills too. Most of the time you don't hit your opponent with all of your strength. It's a general statement, but I velieve it to be likely that you'll distract yourself in a fight/bout if you concentrate on only hitting super hard. You'll be like that siily guy Deonte Wilder. Well, he's not silly, he's clearly a very decent boxer, it's just that some people were saying he's not technical. I'm not gonna claim to be a boxing expert right now. MArtial art sports are conflicting for me. Cause you deal real damage and receive real damage. Fun, not kidding. But problematic. Carried the bag downstairs later.

it has a tiny bit of meaning for me :) The rest are random.
