Monday, 13th of June, 2022 - DL, melting plastic to fix guitar binding
13.06.2022
Today's already shaping up to be an interesting day. Slept for a long time yesterday, had some really mighty sleep, since I had nothing to do, tried to sleep this morning but barely, had some work canceled again, tried to sleep but couldn't. My bed has become strangely uncomfortable lately. Perhaps it's a good time to beat the mattress again.
Having coffee. The effect seems small, but noticeable. Should be good. Reminding myself that I had enough sleep yesterday. (for today) Makes sense? It has to.
Watched the movie "Reminiscence" yesterday. Nice movie. Artistic. Kind of too fast, surprisngly. Typical hollywood "bittersweet ending". It's stereotypical. They should have shown the character to have more motivation to do what he did. I like hugh Jackman. I imagine me and him look a little bit alike. Maybe not. I got significantly wider cheekbones. Big head I have too. I keep wondering if it's cause I was born through a cesarian section.
For some reason I don't watch the new seasons of the popular tv shows. I really liked the first seven seasons of game of thrones... Well, not really, but there was a lot of cool moments. It inspired creativity. But I somehow just couldn't care about season 8. Everyone spoiled by saying how bad it was. So I just didn't care. And now we have a dead horse that is Stranger Things and semi-alive horse that is The Boys. Yeah, somehow I'm not yet tired of grotesque brutal shows. Give it a couple years, after they make Invincible season 2. I wish I bothered myself to read the comics, he he.

On my third portion of coffee... Getting jumbled. Attention span minimized. Ha ha. Finally made this portion good. Mostly by drinking it right away, while it's hot and not "oversteeped". Actually, it probably makes sense to pour coffee out of the pot. Cause it oversteeps and gets bitter. Hmmm. I'm thinking of using a metallic teapot that I've seen lying around somewhere. Gotta use it. So my trash everywhere. Must wipe the floors. So much dust. Came up with a cool jazz-like progression on an acoustic... It's cool but simple. Following 2-5-1, but changing keys. First C major, then E Minor, then C Major. Then I'm thinking Cmin, E maj and G min. And making some chords harmonic. 7th and 9th chords, and going from V chord to VI sixth chord. Might seekm confusing. Sixth chords are underrated. They're an inversion of another chord. But it's a 6th chord if a certain note is in the bottom.
It's close to 6 (six) P.M. o'clock past meridian eighteen hundred 1800 military time in the evening... I oughta start working out soon. Enough coffee. I probably got too much. Enjoying my time on the internet. Having political debates with strangers. Lovely.
Today I wanna DL 150 for two sets of 12. Should be very easy, much easier than 140 last wednesday, cause I've acuumulated more energy in my glycogenic cells. Glycogenic cells are responsive for "strength endurance", they're some of the biggest and most "swellable" cells in human body. That's what bodybuilders train primarily. They work after "creative cells" - i.e. fast twitch fibers - run out, and before aerobic cells get to work. Of course, all cells work at all times and replenish energy all the time as well, but at different rates. That's what i remember from learning about it a long time ago. I even used to make notes to remember it better. I was really into it.
Dinopower.ru is still out there in the internet archive. I just realised I can re-read it again. Perhaps I should save some of it, just it case. It's awesome. A part of my life. I even tried to submit a translation of an article from ditillo2 blog, and admin agreed to post it, but forgot about it. Or thought it's too cringe, ha ha. Well, okay. Time to get to it. I promise, I'll finish recording bass for my song today. I best get it over AFAP.
Workout
Deadlift
Super short initial bodyweight warmup
60 for 12
100 for 12
130 for 12
150 - 2 sets of 12 - nice and easy.
Did some drumming and cleaning up in between sets. Felt good.
Then I finally tried melting some plastic to fix the fletboard binding. Not inlay, I forgot. Binding, not inlay. Silly me. Cause I asked a question on quora about the inlay. Interesting too.
Anyway, I melted a milk carton cap first. It just didn't melt enough. I tried a lot.
A small piece of PVC pipe was better... Almost good. If only it was a teeny tiny bit softer and sticky. I almost got it in place but it jumped out. I tried a few other plastics but to no avail. Junior acolyte was very excited to see me do this. I gave him the mask. He refused to take it off for long time. He asked me to let him do pullups with reverse rubber. He did a lot. Curious.
Then I played bass. Only did around 6-10 takes and recorded the final verse. Final chorus, however, kept being unsatisfying. I was picking too light, especially when i needed to do an upstroke. I kept changing the gain and bridge pickup levels. Gain is around 1 o'clock (1300 thurteen hundred military time meridian). Then it's good. It's almost completely compressed when I pick my hardest... Sound engineer's preference (mine). I like an uncompressed punchy mix though. Highs and lows. Still haven't recorded the final verse. Dissatisfied. Can't imagine what guitar is going to be like.
I really need to learn to stay awake when there's light shining outside. That'll help me a lot. And sleep when it's dark. Too bad I like to have nighttimes of my own so much. And then it's very very bright. Perhaps I should find a better curtain.
And I was recording with my "monitor" speaker. A lot of fun. WIll be more fun when I'm mixing.
Never buy a narrow guitar belt. They're just not worth it! Always wide.
I can't stop re-recording that last verse. I oughta get in a groovy mood.
As expected, today's DL was so much easier than doing 140 for 10 last time. I was deadlifting 280 twop weeks ago, but one week ago 140 for 10 was hard. Curious. I should always make warmups have something like 50% for 10 reps. Except in fringe cases, when everything is on the line. Have to keep endurance at an okay level at least.
Really satisfied with the day. I did what I wanted. Couldn't find time to sand G310 some more. I think I'll be done next time. I should consider starting the painting. The sealer first. I think I have two cans of it. Gray color. Pretty random stuff, when you think about. Just have to take a look at those problematic spots, where the old sealer might be peeling.
