May 26th, Thursday - Light workout
26.05.2022
Well, here are some points to think of. I wrote em up here yesterday. (P.s. - Put em in the bottom)
Yeah, I am upset about failing a weight yesterday. And did make a lot of mistakes. I only shifted the weight intentionally to the left on monday when I was squatting, and it caused soreness in the small muscles and connective tissues around my left hip joint. That's about all that is - not an injury, just a tweak.
Realistically speaking, I did set overly high goals for myself, with my "minimax" being 280 and "supermax" being 300. Minimax is okay. Supermax is called super for a reason, he he. Logically, that was to be expected, especially considering I still haven't developed a skill of maxing out.
On the other side - I know I am significantly stronger than I expected to be earlier (like during winter) and my gainZ are way higher than average. I used to have this mental block regarding how much you should gain, and yet here I am, having improved my deadlift by more than 10 kgs without even having finished hte program.
Today I slept a lot. Had some of my repeatable quests cancelled. Slept a lot indeed. When I was a teenager I used to be able to sleep for more than 12 hours a day almost every day. How was that even possible? Innocent soul perhaps, ha ha.
Had a small snack in the evening and did another repeatable quest. It's enjoyable. My subjects are indeed making progress! Some faster than other. I have a couple different approaches.
Made coffee from 60 beans, like in the old days. It ended up being 8 grams. I poured 76 grams of water over it. Rereading my blog I found a tidbit from the past and did not overboil it, only let it rise this time. And the taste is indeed way better, or so I think right now.
It's so tasty I wanna another batch, because that was barely one cup, ha ha.

I don't feel low on energy, yet I feel so whacked out of my mind. Actually, I don't. I just feel calm and rested. I did not get too tired or too fatigued yesterday. I could not have done that. Because of all the mistakes I made. Couldn't push myself far enough.

Thinking of doing an actual powerlfting program after the summer. That way I think I'll be able to get better at maxing out. Makes sense, doesn't it? I still have one more heavy deadlift session until the only categorically heavy exercise will have become push press for a long time (summer). I need to lay back and work on my weak spots too. Do pullups, dumbbell presses, one arm presses, stiff leg DLs, deficit DLs, normal squats for lots of reps, maybe even front squats. That's about the majority of the program. Do some bag and sack lifting. Lifting a sack is torturous, hehe. If you do it right.
Workout - keeping it light today.
Squat
5 sets of 15 - BW
Overhead press
6 kg dumbbells - 3 sets of 15 + some flys (not flies) after each set
16 kg kettlebell + 16.5 kg dumbbell - 2 sets of 10
Rubber pulls for lats
1 set of 10 one arm
2 sets of 10 both arms, harder rubber
I feel like that should be enough. Let junior acolyte play Minecraft on my PC as I worked out and played guitar and even bass for the first time in a while.
Reminder:
Mistakes I've made (written down on 25th)
1) Monday - squatted heavy, loaded up my hip joint, it hurt all the time
2) Did not sleep on monday
3) Slept little during tuesday
4) Got "distracted" on tuesday
5) Walked for an hour on tuesday
6) Did not put extra effort into saving energy on tuesday
7) Watched a stupid movie on tuesday night
8) Didn't eat properly
9) Made my monday workout too heavy. Was too affected by caffeine. Thus, I did not "undesensetize" myself for this wednesday.10) Drank shitty coffee today. Hey, least at it had caffeine. I oughta order better coffee. Light roast, not that medium roast crap.
11) Inevitably took too long during whole workout - but hey, at least I got 270 for 2, which is a PR+1 rep
12) Did not do a "clean single" a week ago - didn't train my fast muscle fibers enough, I was supposed to do one more rep with 270.
