April 23rd, Saturday - Light workout, Easter
23.04.2022
Nice day. Yesterday the "scond day syndrome" must've been hitting me hard, ha ha. I've been unable to relax properly in a few days. Feels like my brain doesn't want to sleep whenever.
I've been inhaling too much cold air in my sleep. I let the senior acolyte rub my skin with some kind of stinky "traditional medicine" and it's been awful all night, ha ha. I thought that stress leading to skin problems was sort of a myth, but it isn't! Cortisol - too much of, that is - screws you up hard.
Went to bed early yesterday and still didn't have very good sleep. Worked in the morning. Wasn't too bad. Slept during the day fo, like 3-4 hours. Not sure. Now I'm feeling pretty fresh. At least 45/100, ha ha. I guess I'll have to move my heavy PP session to monday. And today we're having a room session. But I so want to practice my PP holds! I think I've been getting so good at it! Well, if I feel better I just might. For my own sake I shall limit the amount of training time quite strictly. That used to be one of my main principles in summer 2020. I'm having the same kind of summer this year (I hope).
Feeling better and better with time. Had a handful of double-ground coffee. Like 70% strong (100% being so strong you cringe just a little bit when you drink it).
I like to grind em, put em in a pot, pour hot water over and then bring to a boil so that it rises just a little bit. I've been having it this way for ages.
I really, really want to practice my PP (pushpress) today. Is there a way I can do it and keep everything as light as possible? Perhaps just stick to 60 kgs today? Sounds reasonable.
If I was feeling okay I'd do my program - 85% for 4 sets of 2. I guess I could make into going from a 100 to 120 for 4 sets of 2. That'd be roughly right, considering technical aspects. 102 is 85% of 120 - a sort of "mnimum max", and 119 is 85% of 140 - my old max. Pretty sure I can do it these days as well. I'd really like to get to 150. I feel like I'm supposed to able to do it just by optimising my technique.

8 PM once again. Made another batch of coffee. This one's about 85% strong. I wish to fall asleep early today.
Feeling better. Hope I don't crash. Honestly, the length of your session is really one of the underrated factors when it comes to fatigue. Even if you really relax between sets and still work out for three hours it's going to be more fatiguing to your CNS than one hours workout without relaxing. There's a possibility that flexing your CNS up takes up more energy than "keeping it up" - tense. Concentrated. I used to never do anything between sets, just wander aimlessly in the hallway. It's honestly pretty helpful if you want to get it over with faster. Today? Today we're keeping it light. Maybe even lighter than light. I reckon I'll be done before 10 PM. Important.

9 PM. Time to start to minimal warmup. And some minimal PPs in the garage, then some BW squats in here, in the chambers.
Some warmups - going a bit slow. Narrow grip is better on PPs not to overstretch some tendon in my elbow.
Overhead press - sets of 5
40 - 50 - 60
Pushpress
40 - 3 sets of 5 - feels good.
Now it's 10 PM.
Squats
3 set of 15 - bodyweight.
Was kinda hard for my cardio - due to this small illness I got. On the third set - felt just great. Really lubricated my joints. Sometimes you can barely squat in front of the fridge or shelves. Not long ago it was just perfect, my joints were so strong. These days lately - not so much. But right now - it's great.
Wanted to do more. But I have to discipline myself. Including when I want to boost my ego by "rounder numbers". A perfect light session has a minimum of volume and load, but maximum energy accumulation.
Watching a stream of Easter service. Good times! Possibly better than last year.
