Thursday 28th - reforming my squat, something important :D
28.10.2021
Nice day. Inevitably slept for too long after yesterday's caffeinated debauchery (haha). Got some good ol' buckwheat and a toast for breakfast. Buckwheat is underrated - high fiber, nice glycemic index.
As I was waking up I checked my news and
I WAS FINALLY MONETIZED ON YOUTUBE 😃
Not only was my association approved, but my channel was straight up accepted into the partner program. How did that happen so fast? I was overjoyed and had a lot of different ideas that I'm not going to reveal yet.
Had one batch of coffee - felt nice, browsed the web, played guitar with a junior acolyte, was running out of time for the workout.
Squat - felt surprisingly comfortable today
Only sets of 10.
50
70
100
120
140
150
On the last two sets I made sure to squat as deep as I could - i.e. utilizing the questionable "butt wink" technique - and to extend my legs fully. Didn't extend my torso fully because it's a low back squat. I've literally never done a heavy high bar squat, cause low bar squat always felt so right on my rear delts, fixed very well, so I never bothered. Today I was reforming my technique and moving away from the old comfy half reps. After all, this is a moderately light weight for me. 150 though, that felt like doing a lil sprint, made my liver hurt. not because the squatting itself is hard but because you also have to control your breath - i.e. do "shallow breating" when you squat, keeping your abdominals as big and bouncy as possible, so your torso doesn't fold under the bar. And incredibly important tip. Usually beginners can't do it, cause almost nithing in life makes you breathe like that. Your lungs sort of become the muscle that you lift with. Isn't that mind blowing?
And that was it for a while. Had a break, did some repeatable quests.
Then I picked up my phone and recorded myself jamming in E Mixolydian, a common "happy" blues scale. It's all over the place, but enjoyed giving it a little mix and adding a modicum of drums. I oughta practice with a metronome more, hehe.
Here it is - something fun to commemorate today!
I feel like I'm not done working out.
Prone ring pulls
25 pretty hard, pumped my my right lat and forearm, did some pauses - for some reason it just felt right
25 even harded, such thick hard pump, completely unexpected lol.
I realised there's been quite a continuation of One Punch Man comic since the last time I read it - manga as well as webcomic. I last read it in january 2019, and since then I just assumed that it all stopped. But I can across a post in Quora talking about Blast, the intriguing mysterious character who hasn't been revealed before, so I checked the wiki and got even more intrigued. So now I'm reading it.
Curls
6kg dumbbells - 25 reps
27 kg ez bar, one arm - 10 reps each. Way harder for right arm for some reason - mostly due to position
31 kg dumbbell, seated, a-la concentrated curl, but moving my torso slightly - 10 reps with each hand, pretty hard mostly due do constant cramsp in my Tensor fasciae latae muscle (just looked it up) - the one that lifts up your leg, if I'm not mistaken, and in my obliques as well.
Well, this definitely has to be it for heavy exercises today.
Random pic of the day - Dietkirchen St. Lubentius, and an even better pic I found in Wikipedia itself.
