Another nice day - Monday, Sept 06, 2021
06.09.2021
Slept through most of sunday. A little weird. And then I also fell asleep early. Woke up at 6AM today (monday). Did some things. Ate a moderate amount of food. But highly caloric, actually - courtesy of peanut butter. Fell asleep until 2PM. Woke up, did some important things. Started having coffee. A handful first. Played guitar a lot - my old "prayer_doom" (Prayer Of The Unavenged). Printing out tabs was a great idea. Most definitely!
Got some more coffee. Decided to play my new cheap Les Paul. It was nice - fiddled with the tone, played with a pick, didn't even notice any wrist pain. Great stuff. Noticed that one of the stapholders got pulled out. I screwed it back in and decided to return it. A curious, albeit definitely impulsive decision. That's what you get for buying things on impulse. I'm glad I can return it. It has very weak pickups, wood seems to be brittle, some plastic covers came scratched and poorly cut out. I didn't play it much, so I'm returning it in the same condition I bought it. Now I may consider buying a more expensive guitar. Maybe that Schecter from the previous post. I'd love that. Hopefully it has good tone.
Deadlift - today is the second session in the program, and it dictated 75% - 5*5. I wanted to change it up. And make it lighter while I'm at it. So instead of 210 I decided to do less, and do it from deficit! Like 3 cms - my green 10 kg plates.
50*10
100*5
150*5
170*5 overhand! Great stuff. I think it's a small PR since my middle finger injury :DDDDD
190 - 2 sets of 5 - mostly in straps
200*5
207,8 for 5 - I guess it's a small PR as well, since I haven't done deficit DLs in a very long time xD It might be an actual factual PR for me, actually. I think I last deficit deadlifte3n in autumn 2013, and that was 210 for a hard single, ha ha. Today it was all so easy!
In between DL sets I played bass through the old boombox, It's really loud. Great for practice, honestly. If I play with the pick, 0 on E rattles a lot. But I think I wore it out, couse it stopped rattling in the end. Played Yggdrasil verse and chorus. Lovely, groovy. I forgot how actually fast the song is - on the guitar I play it so lazily, cause I don't have a metronome. Today I had a whole drum beat.
Unloaded the plates, socialized with some of the members of the order. Went back to my chambers.
Lats - first, 15 reps one arm pulldown with and expander
Overhand pullups, narrow grip - 3 sets of 8 - my forearms hurt surprisingly a lot. Gotta be all the guitar playing as well as profilactic grip work. I really want a new camera - I might start filming IRL videos.
I feel inspired to start making videos for Sparkfinger channel again. So many things have happened - devs finally unantagonized the society. Poor choice of words, sorry. Everyone calmed down, that's what happened. Including me, who got bored.
IMPORTANT PHYSICAL CULTURE TIP
Rediscovering all the small things again and again. It is quite beneficial to ALWAYS film yourself! Maybe not during warmup, but definitely during medium and heavy sets. It allows you to concentrate so much better, and reflect on your set after! And thus concentrate on the next set. Plus, for me it became a part of a routine over the years, so NOT filming myself for the last two months - almost not at all - was really detrimental. It must have been.
Wrist curls, over and underhand - 6 kg dumbbells, 4 sets of 20 - massive pump, lovely
Kinda wanna do bicep curls.
Drag curls, 19 kg dumbbells - 3 sets of 15 - it's the best curls for me, cause they don't hurt my forearm rotators. I hope they don't, ha ha.
Now I wanna pump up my triceps. Haven't done this in years!
French press (not an extension) - 16 kg kettlebell for 20 reps, grip by the body
32 for 2 sets of 15 - kinda feels a little wrong. I felt wary. Second set was much better though.
Would you believe me if I told you I love humanity?
---
Measured up my arms. They're still kinda small, at 45 cms max. Chest is bigger than ever though! Above 133 cms, I think. I didn't try to measure too accurately. Perhaps I'll even take a photo of myself soon.
Listening to this right now - great stuff! I love the bass mixing. I wish I could do the same.
Okay, I'm done working out. Preserva me, Domine!
Random picture of the day - intricate, unique, tells you something about human nature as well.
