Not a training day. Received my cheap new crash cymbal - also a Paiste 101, it sounds almost exactly like the ride. How curious. I plan to use it as a top hihat as well. Also received my new portable headphones, they nor that great, but they should be nice for the garage. I decided that I don't care too much for any kind of earbuds since they can't transmit any bass frequencies. Maybe this one doesn't either, I actally haven't listened to music in it much yet.
My back hurts a bit since yesterday. Maybe it's my poor overhead technique - unlikely, maybe it's my new drum pedal - not sure, maybe it's from sleeping in the wrong position. Or maybe it was me sitting with the rounded back yesterday. Somehow I forgot how back it can be for a washed up meathead like yours truly, and now it hurts a it. Did bodyweight squats - two sets of thirty, pumped up some blood in them, made sure that it's a back squat, and the pain went away mostly. Pretty great. And nice and easy solution for unexpected tweaks - back or neck. Just do two sets of thirty (maybe more) in a completely controlled manner and it'll go away - or it might.
Been downloading GTA5 for 16 hours, so far only 80 gbs downloaded. Not bad for a usb modem, I guess. Maybe I'll play it tonight. Not too enthusiastic about it, to be honest - I've played enough in 2014, but it can be fun. How come I'm no longer enthusiastic about games? I was worried I'm gonna have 20 hour long gaming session like in the old days, but I don't. Must be the standing desk. Sitting would feel so wrong now, ha ha. Sitting is for work, standing is for fun. And when you grow tired - you can just lie down!

Nice day. If yesterday was like 45/100, then today is more 5/7 so far. Been feeling ill yesterday - stomach hurted with pain that was about 25/100, thankfully, if kept going away. I speculate that I have joghurts to blame - you know, the ones full of sugar, that some people love buying so much. Teach me to be a better dietician, ha ha. It sounds like I'm an ungrateful person, and if I indeed was a grateful person I would agree with this. Sounds like a paradox, doesn't it? That's because this philosophical equation doesn't include time. Our existense is a self-contradiction. How can anything exist if there's no reason for it to exist? Obviously, you would ask if there has to be a reason. There doesn't. Contradiction is a human term - as well as anything else that we can think of. That's why you can only believe in objective truth existing. If only it was possible for me to be miltiple people at once! That would reveal so much about the world and concepts of multitide and movement, or change. You ever think that movement and change are, in many ways, identical concepts?
Today I'm having coffee again. After getting screwed up on it last monday - getting quite uninhibited, in fact - I finally remembered why it's worth avoiding. Fun, sure. The same kind of fun you get from working out too much - extreme fun. Exhausting. You love eating veggies, but they're so much better in a salad. Gotta stop yourself from fressing on one thing. (It's a german word, I felt like it would be more appropriate to describe exactly what I'm thinking).
Now I'm having a 100 bean coffee - this time I brewed it in the pot, as opoosed to boiling the water first and scalding the coffee mass. The taste is significantly less dense - possibly, because it's just 100 beans - but, in a way, it's more pronounced. Just like stepping on a nail is a much more sensational experience than stepping on a bed of nails, ha ha. Am I a philosopher? Well, of course? Am I good one? If I had to measure the quality of a man's philosophical work I would look at the amount of researach he published - which, in my case, is quite miniscule. And, of course, the quality is hard to find.
I wish somebody taught me that quantity doesn't contradict quality - it doesn't, okay? Even when we're talking about mass production. What does cause the seemingly evident contradiciton is the human factor. There's no reason to believe that something would turn out worse just because there's a lot of it. All of those are human concepts, of course.
The way I've experienced it - quantity is the mother of quality.
Can't learn anything unless you spend time of it. Can't make anything good unless you make a lot of bad products. Can't make a masterpiece - a chef-d'œuvre, if you will - unless you learn your trade by making low quality things.
Of course, you can get lucky. Getting lucky is unlucky. That is a contradiction. Becuase the element of time is not present in it. To put it in different, more clear words - getting lucky leads to bad luck. And luck is a human concept. You best not percieve luck as an inherent trait of anything. The best way to look at luck is to look at it is if it's something unexpectedly pleasant. Don't believe in luck, unless you wanna be like Pinnochio. And Pinnochio had plot armor. A good story doesn't have to have a pleasant ending.
I think I'll go and get some more coffee. Pray for me! Ha ha.
Made some more coffee. This time I brewed it in a pot with pre-boiled water. The taste is worse, but more dense. More like I'm chewing on coffee beans themselves, which is something I would prefer not to do. Strange.
Yesterday I played GTA5 for the first time in a long while. It's was, somehow, and awfully nauseating experience. I wonder if I should upgrade my monitor, I wonder if too many FPS is just bad for you. I got a mighty nice headache in my frontal lobes and had to stop playing. To be fair, I was already feeling somewhat unwell. The room feels so dusty. I made a choice to mop it up a bit today. Is dust really that harmful? Maybe I should consider always staying warm.
Light session today, really short one. I forgor how back in the day I would measure my training session max time.
Bench press
90 - 4 sets of 15 - kind of creaky
And a lot of drum practice - incorporating 16th notes into 4th and 8ths on the double pedal, resetting it a couple of times. Apparently I was tightening my right pedal every time I tried to loosen it - somehow it's lefty tighty. I think I got better today. I should reap good results soon if I manage to stay disciplined. Also I avoided drumming with my right hand - gotta give my wrist some rest.
What else? I wish there was something else. I think I'll do some bass practice later today. Tomorrow is going to be a late session, and I hope to do deadlifts. What will I be lifting? I'm supposed to do 80% for sets of 4, so maybe I'll just work up to 220 for 4 and that'll be it. My supposed max is 280, so it'll be easier than 80%. I just feel like I've been quite undisciplined and doing toom much without noticing it, and that makes me lose too much energy on my rest days. I really have to relearn to limit my training session time. That's why I'll start writing it down every time, and rating myself. Today, for example, I managed to fit my whole session in roughly 50 minutes - that's why my overly long warmup, of course.
Training time - 50 minutes. Very nice.
