March 27th - a small jam, deadlift, some drumming

 27.03.2021

Exquisite day. Had a lot of work in the first half of the day - on fact, more than ever in a long time. Fell asleep at 3AM yesterday, woke up at 10AM today, so that means I'm somewhat back at the start of another "normal" sleep schedule cycle, but, of course, after I was done I fell asleep and slept til 19:00, and only had coffee then.
Practiced drums a tiny bit - I'm really far from being able to do anything decent with a double pedal yet. The best I can do is have a lot of fun. Also I tuned it a bit - really tightened the springs, made sure the right one is slightly less tight, but then I had to keep loosening the left one. I think I really need to train my left leg more. After I tightened the springs, sitting on my tiny drum throne became much easier. Played a bit.
Then I poured some more water in coffee, re-boiled it (yuck lol haha), had some more coffee with all the caffeine pretty much squeezed out of it.

Went downstairs and started obsessively playing more drums - and recording them. After a short period of time I realised I'm completely out of drumming shape and I'm not grooving almost at all. So I oversimplified the beat and recorded 24 bars of it at 100 bpm. This beat pretty much goes on quarters only - good ol' "bootcamp/bootycamp", you know.
Then I went to the garage, and

Deadlift

Warmup

160*5 overhand - kind feeling weak with my grip

200*5 straps

210*5 easy enough

215*5 same

217*5 - it was 2+3, cause my silly old self drank a lot of tea and felt uncofortable in his tummy, so I had to try and fix the belt. Didn't really help, but okay enough.

And that was it with the training. Went upstairs and recorded my current song on top of this beat, it turned out bad, cause it's supposed to go with a fast beat.

Then I improvised another mini jam in G Minor. It turned out nice. Then I really developed it and spent over an hour recording this one guitar part. Now I have a couple of holes in my left ring finger tip, lol. Maybe I'm gripping it too hard because of caffeine. Or maybe it's because I love surfing on power chords so much, subsequently filing my fingertip, ha ha.

I really gotta eat before I go too deep in the tunnel. I only had some rice and meat for breakfast in a hurry. That's what caffeine does to you. You just forget about eating. Thankfully, I'm actually heavier than I've been in years. Possibly heavier than I've been in 2015. And I'm more muscular than I've ever been, as evident form my chest measurements (134 cms). Something to be really happy about, eh? Ha ha.

I wanted to share this little jam that I wrote today - it's awfully diatonic (give him some insulin!) but enjoyable enough.

How should I call it? What is the association? Perhaps I'll call it "Writing a love letter". Why? Well, admittedly, my AI Dungeon plays have been awfully "romantic" lately, mostly by "coincidence", so I have these randomly aesthetic pictures before my eyes. In this story that I'm currently playing the main character is trying to set up his personal life in a rather extraordinary manner, and it's pretty funny. I, of course, can't really share this adventure. Or maybe I can, but in the future. This particular adventure is set in the world of Elder Scrolls, you see. That's how powerful AI Dungeon is - you can almost literally do anything, if you know how.

And the painting is "Man Writing a Letter" by the dutch artist Gabriël Metsu. He was a was a painter of history paintings, still lifes, portraits, and genre works. He was "a highly eclectic artist, who did not adhere to a consistent style, technique, or one type of subject for long periods". Only 14 of his 133 works are dated.

Let's call it a random pic of the day - not random for me, because I picked it out, but it random enough for you. Of course, nothing is truly random, randomness is purely a human concept.

Also I wanted to share a pic of my new pedal - well, a pic from the shop, just to show what kind I got.
