Februario, decem et septem

Nice day. Sleep schedule, once again, is a bit broken. Yesterday I spent two hours after midnight recording three minutes of guitar for my new song. Well, recording and learning. It's really nice and moody, the first part is just pure doom. Then it goes into my typical "melodic part", then it will go into something else, I guess.
Had a somewhat moderate amount of coffee today - two batches of three small cups, both about 90 beans. Right now I don't feel too caffeinated. I'm probably gonna end up tunneling the internet for a few more hours. Actually, i can't believe it's not midnight yet. How quaint! The sun started going to bed much later. It's still bright on the street at 6 PM. You know these scientific facts, yet you enjoy noticing things like that.
Overhead press
Warmup
90*5
100*4
107 - 2 sets of 4 - then I realised I'm supposed to do 4 sets of 3, not 4.
Pushpress
120*2
120*3 nice - much smoother. I imagined I'm just gonna press it, and then added some some leg drive.
Squats
70 - 3 sets of 10 - first squat with a barbell after a very long time. One the last set I sort of jumped a bit, made sure to keep the movement smooth though.
Some pinching - lifted 25+25 with the right a couple of times, and 25+10 with the left.
Some time earlier this week I ordered new drumheads for my toms - I decided to not order oily ones, bought paint-coated Evans. Basically, they're very cheap, but also coated in paint. I watched a video that explained what they're good for, but now I forgot, They have longer sustain, less attack, higher pitch, and they're not as durable as oily ones. I just wanted to save some gold, so I reasoned with myself and told myself that it would improve the versatility of my drumset. Later I moved the cymbals around a lot, as well as the whole drumset. Somehow it keeps moving further and further from the wall. I definitely prefer the ride cymbal to be very easily accessible.
Later I recorded the final vocal parts in "As Yggdrasil". Sort of wanna post it somewhere already. I guess since I'm not a massive artist, I can permit myself that. Spent quite some time mixing everything, and taming the awful low end in one of the guitar parts - where Id ecided to switch to the neck pickup. Basically, I applied a gentle multiband compressor and turned down the bass knobs in the amp sim. I really wanna buy a real amp. Perhaps a Randall - but it's not an the top of my priority list. And I would love to buy a Metalzone. But it would be more of a luxury/meme purchase, to be fair. I think I should go to some guitar store and ask to check everything out. And play 0-3-5, of course. Ha ha :D
I just realised that you can use shift+enter to go to another line
without breaking the paragraph. How nice.
Well, I mixed the song, and now I'm gonna mix it again - I need to lower the volume of the double layered vocals.
Well, sometimes you just have to forcibly stop yourself from mixing. Sometimes you might end up with completely neutered sound, and that's not good. The music is supposed to make you feel something. Gotta not remove the "human element", which is sort of a meme.
An exciting pic of my massive hobby
Man, I still have so much mixing to do. Mostly just automating faders.
