Nice day so far. Did some work. Yesterday I assembled an old metal shelf, and put it behind my desk, so I can put my new monitor there. And now I also have way more storage space, ha ha. One week left until my new PC is delivered. Yesterday I made an impulse purchse and finally ordered new drumheads for my mounted toms. I ended buying thinner, cheaper heads than the blue one that I currently have on my floor tom. If something doesn't feel right, I can just retune some of them, or so I think.
Having a 100 beans coffee cup, with some butter and sugar. Butter is basically like cream, but it has more fat, it's pretty great. I'm thinking of making another cup, since nowadays I bew coffee in a way that doesn't extract as much caffeine into the liquid. Perhaps, seeing how today is a relatively heavy day, I should consider letting more caffeine into my system?.. We'll see how that goes.
Well, I made another pot of coffee with 135 beans, and brewed for a little longer. It's quite late already. I hope one hour will be enough for me to do deadlifts.
Deadlift
Warmup
220*1
250*1 nice and easy
270 - 2 attempts - both times I got it off the floor very easily, second time I even held it slightly above the floor for a second. Well, I'm glad that I managed to get it off the floor - that's something I've never done before.
In between sets I stayed mostly calm and polished the classical guitar, then I played a dominant phrygian melodic scale. Pretty confusing, after practicing normal modes for so long.
"Dominant" means that it has a raised third - not a minor third, but a major one. And "melodic" means that it has a raised 7th - so when you play two octaves together, you get three notes that are just semitones - 7th, 1st and 2nd (or 7-8-9, if you will).
My bodyweight is just 107 kgs in my warm and thich deadlifting attire - my nutrition has been mediocre lately. I think, perhaps. tomorrow might finally be the day for me to go to the strone and buy things that would fix mistakes in my current lazy nutrition plan, which pretty much consists of a large bowl or rice for breakfast. Funny how I'm still at 107 kgs then, huh?
Now, after the garage, I should do some accesory work. And, perhaps, I really should consider not putting my heavier sessions on the days when I have to have them late at night.
Frontal squats with two 6 kg dumbbells
4 sets of 10
Pushups, knees on the floor
2 sets of 35 - felt my pecs, great stuff. Light bodyweight exercizes are so underrated. Nobody does them - except crossfitters doing stuff like pullups with rubber. Maybe they do more other stuff. You know, I've done crossfit before it became cringe. I even competed in a crossfit/climbing tournament in 2011. A long time ago, ha ha. That's the last year I had abs, lol. Maybe one day I'll accidentally lose 15 kilos and get abs again - cause I think they'd start showing at sub 95 kgs, if I diet properly. But abs and looking sexy is really at the bottom of my priorities. I would love to walk the beach and have a lot of women look at me once again - last time that happened I was merely 16. Much more sexually driven than I am now, ha ha. And certain bodyparts of mine looked way bigger as well - cause I had thinner legs and torso. so they were proportionally bigger in comparison. I wonder if I have any photos from that time. I think I'll check out my old HDD, and see if there are any non-corrupted photos.
I checked my old HDD, reminisced quite a lot, and cringed.
P.S.
Much later
Recorded a bass part for 4 minutes of my newer song. Its work title is "prayer_doom". Not exactly sure which lyrical set (that I have conceived earlier) I will use. If it is indeed going to be "prayer" then it's gonna be a song describing the struggles of an unavenged being, that wants to get back at those who wronged him and just laments about the struggle of hatred that sits deep within his soul. Definitely captivating and inspiring, and, most importantly, relatable - for anyone!
I finally fingured out some basics of routing and sends in Cakewalk - most importantly, I found out that the "post" button only affects the fader, and not the addons (that are above the button, so that means they go into the send). I was lied to in the Cakewalk discord. They said it doesn't affect addons, but apparently it does. The "post" button has to be off in order not to be affected by the fader of the track. I'm writing it all down so I don't forget. Also, recently I forgot how to delete bars in Cakewalk, and that happened for the third time. I started sweating as I tried to re-figure out how to do it, and in the end, I had to switch the language back to english. Apparently you're suposed to find "edit ripple all" in the tiny buttons that are right above the tracks. Can you imagine learning something and then forgetting how to do it three times over half a year?
Once again, i've beens tanding and mixing for almost two hours. The new massive monitor is incredibly helpful while using a DAW. Now, if only my mouse wasn't glitchy, lol. I should start preparing all the files that are going to migrate to the new PC - most specifically, VSTs. What are the non-stock VSTs that I frequently use? Well, it's Nova eq, Kotelnikov compressor, Loudmax, BOD bass overdrive emulator, TH-U - of course, and... Is that it? Let me check again.Yes, there's also SPAN analyzer, Ozone imager (stereomaker - only for some mixes tbh)... and, curiously enough, that's all the addons. Also I use virtual instruments - MT power drum kit, for when I need nice drums quickly, and the new BBC Orchesra that I got. I should really play around more with that orchestra, but I want to use my midi keyboard, and I don't have an adapter from midi to pc. I keep getting ads on youtube - something about "I'm a composer", where a man keeps trying to explain to me how to write orchestration for music and movies. And, as interested as I am, I just never get to watch them. Maybe I'll check it all out later, since well, honestly, orchestration is simply not at the top of my priority list. What is on the top? Well, that'd be getting the new PC and setting up the recording apps - such as OBS, and the editing apps, such as the VDSC video editor. I think I might have to try and get a better editor some time in the future.
