Not gonna lie - last time I got a little bit overboard with coffee, and, once again, overloaded my CNS. Today it was the same, but, thankfully, both times didn't go to the extreme.

Overhead press

Warmup

93 - 4 sets of 6

110*1 super easy, nice

Thought about stopping, but decided to do some pushpress.

Pushpress

Warmup

110*1

130 - three fails. All the time I pushed it to lockout point, but couldn't lock it out. The problem was the fact that I was actually tired, and wearing wrong shoes on most attempts. I think I changed into my olympic shoes on the last attempt, and it was the most fruitful.

Also - very important - I kept putting the bar all wrong onto my chest. I don't have an olympic bar. I should unrack it the same way I unrack it on overhead press (holding it in my hands above my shoulders), then I can lower it on them, if I have enough stretchiness that day. I was still pumped from overhead press, rather tight muscle.

Also my laid back OH press technique doesn't really carry over to PP, because I lock it out in front of me, not behind my head (most of the time). You're not supposed to need carryover from OH to PP though, you're supposed to have the opposite. Once I'm done with my OH program I'll get into more serious pushpressing. I shouldn't cut out OH though, when I'm done with the program. This session was the first one of my last "mini-cycle" - basically, I'm maxing out in the next few weeks.

Light day. Slept way too much - really overloaded my CNS on wednesday, mostly with music.

Squat

Warmup

80*10

90 - 2 sets of 10

Floor supported ring pullups

2 sets of 10

1 set of 40 with some rest-pause

2 sets of 15 with extra range (i.e. pulling the rings very close to me).

That was it for thursday.

Now, onto some other curious things I did - on wednesday I got a crazy whim to try and stream what I'm playing. I was practicing a bass melody for a mostly random jam that I'm working on - basically, I've been incorporating Musescore more and more into my routine. It was super fun - I tried playing quickly, then I lowered the tempo and kept increasing it until I got better. I was fingering my bass, mostly doing the good ol' "Captain Hook" technique, occasionally blasting some note with my middle finger. All the while Musescore and Cakewalk running in the background, and all the sound going into the stream. Later at night I impulsively ordered a webcam and a phone stand. And some time later I ordered new hi-hats, cheap, but, supposedly, OK ones. I'll get to try them out when they arrive, and I can decline the purschase. But I think I'll just buy them, since they're not that expensive. Haven't ordered anything from that site before. Also on wednesday I played a lot of drums, finally practiced something new - 16th notes on hi hats, that's actually why I really wanted to upgrade them.

Thinking of trying to "stream" today and seeing if my video settings work better now.

Random pic of the day - no explanation this time.
