Much better day. Almost everything went alright, and what didn't got fixed later.
Had 86 beans + 60 something beans of coffee. Also I got my new protein delieved, that helped me mentally a lot. Had some creatine and beta alanine too. Beta alanine doesn't make mee feel too good tbh lol (unlike back in the day)
Some warmups with light dubbells
Overhead press
29*15 ez bar
16+16 dumbbell+kettlebell - 2 sets of 15 reps
Band supported pullups
3 sets of 20 - nice pump
Deadlift
Warmup
160 - 3 sets of 8
I think I should dedicate more attention to my technique. It's kind of lazy on these high rep sets. Do I really need to do high rep DLs at all? Isn't this more of a fun torture thing? lol.
Then I did some drums, but I was getting distracted a lot - in fact, I spent at least 20 minutes in between my first and second DL set talking to someone. But it was ok. I just need better velocity on my DLs. I'll be going for a heavier DL on wednesday, perhaps?.. That was the plan last week.
Did some drumming - warmed up, tried to connect my new condenser mic. After a lot of messing around I concluded that I need a double sided XLR cord (male to female) - apparently, you can't connect it to the interface without it. Which is baffling to me, because it's easily connected by XLR to 3.5 mm into a cheap USB card, the one that I use for my lapel mic.
Used dynamic mic to record bass drum today, the sound is so much more rich than the aforementioned tiny lapel mic that I used to record the bass drum before.
Did some jamming, ended up with a (relatively) pretty nice 2 minute track. I was really surprised to find out how easy tremolo picking was for me today - all the training in the last couple weeks paid off. I'm using the hardest and thickest pick that I have for it - JP's red pick, I wrote about it a couple months ago. Making sure to point it slightly towards the neck.
Here's the track - I think it definitely belongs to doom metal category, with some black influence I guess? I didn't bother with drums, just programmed rather simple ones. I still have so much to learn.
