26 sept - 30 sept 2020
26.09.2020
"Tiny bench" press
"Tiny bench" press
Warmup, all the usual
107,5 - 3 sets of 15
Really nice, that's progress right there
Half reps narrow grip from the bottom position in rack
80 - 2 sets of 10 real triceps killer, in a good way of course.
27.09.2020
I couldn't handle being bored, so yesterday I decided I was going to have another training session.
Rubber supported pullups
3 sets of 10
Apparently the rubber only takes off about 10 kgs in the bottom position. Feels great.
Bodyweight squats, three sets of one leg deficit calf raises - pretty great exercise tbh, real killer too. I think my calves straight up increased in size since that day, and I didn't even do it for bodybuilding reasons.
Overhand curls, EZ bar - more like rectangular fixes though (ancient exercise, I love it, you can read about it here - https://ditillo2.blogspot.com/2008/08/rectangular-fixback-hand-curl-charles.html )
I read it a long time ago and got inspired to get a good result in it. I think I mentioned it recently, I should try and do over 60 kgs in it, that'd be a serious result for anyone, I think. Hope it doesn't become popular, lol :D
Anyway, I did 39 kgs - 3 sets of 15, very light.
28.09.2020
Relatively light day - I was supersetting overhead lifts with squats
Overhead press / Push press / Squat
70*5
70*5 / / 70*10
/ 70*3 / 100*10
/ 110*1 / 110*10
/ 90 - 2 sets of 3
TBH I'm not sure if that's exactly what it was, should have written it down on the right day.
Did some improvisation with the guitar, it was interesting because the first few bars of the guitar were recorded through the cheapest possible soundcard, and it sounds strangely awesome.
30.09.2020
Ordered a new sound card. Cheap, but, supposedly, infinitely better than Guitar Link that I have. Yeah, imagine that. Now you know what kind of person wrote these words 😁 just kidding.
Overhead press
Quick warmup
80*15 nice
80*16, almost did one more - PR+6 reps
110*1 nice
Pushpress
130*0 pushed in front of me, didn't warm up legs.
After a leg "warmup" and some nice CNS shakeup
130*1 awesome, hadn't done this weight since 2017. I truly am stronger. And the push was super short! Tempted to actually upload the video.
Squat
60*10
80*10
110*10
140*5 felt hard, realised I was sort of doing a goodmorning
110*10 better
110*10 narrowed my grip, apparently I can do it after all. That means I was able to keep my torso straight. My leg joints need some prolonged rest, but muscles yearn for work. I guess I will have to force some rest on myself.
I did a lot of silly chore supersets with this session - fed the beasts, did something else, and drummed.
Today I actually used TWO drums. AND it is the right decision after all! I was finally able to record the bass drum without it clipping OR disappearing. It was a tiny clip-on mic, first I kept it in front of the drum, then I shoved it inside and couldn't get it out, haha. Well, I'm supposed to have special metal lube delivered (lithium grease), so I'll take it out - or won't - when I''ll lube it up. I guess I'll have to use the big mic for the internets.
The recording was messy, I was improvising way too much, but in the end I succeded at recording a relatively proper beat. Perhaps I needed to warm up. I definitely need to exercise more, as well as do lessons. Yesterday I finally got back to properly doing guiat lessons, remembered the basic barre chords. Anyway, that's it for now. I think I could write more about "pop culture" stuff that I've been interested in lately, but I'm not going to do that right now.
