15 july 2020

I decided that I should start doing squats way more regularly - just like I do with the pullups. Besides, squatting 100 kgs is way easier than doing a pullup, or at least it's supposed to be. I think I could just add 2 sets of 100 kgs on most of the non-squat sessions. After a couple weeks I can increase it to 2 sets of 12, then to 14, etc. And I feel like that's really going to amp up my general functionality. Just do a warmup with 60*5 and do 2 of 10 right away. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. And that way your legs will always be ready for squat. Except mentally squats looks much harder than pullups, of course. And, after I'd have gotten up to something like 2 sets of 16 I can increase the weight, to 110 for example. I'll write more tomorrow (right now it's actually midnight on tuesday).

    The next day

Had 70 beans over three cups. Then I couldn't help myselft and boiled them with one more cup. Pehaps I should just add four cups at the start. I feel like today I got seriously jumbled. Can barely think. Feel very impulsive. If I had more coffee I'd probably end up finally buying a kids drumset. Or buying a normal drumset on credit (quite opposed to the notion of that). Perhaps I'll save money and buy myself one for my birthday. And I'll probably end up not having a great amount of time to learn playing it. Thinking of buying leather and making a drum out of something else. Sometimes you just wanna bang things and make sound.
Thinking of putting some effort into "bone training". Recently I visited Brooks Kubik's blog and was saddened to find out that it's not active. In some of his lasts posts he kept promoting his book on bone training. And then Chris Duffin released a video where he was talking about that. Bones of mine have a strong religious symbolism hidden in them. Perhaps one day I'll open up about it (pay attention to the word "symbolism").
The reason to believe in God is because He is the pinnacle of principles of all that is good. And he is a person - much easier to believe in than an abstract principle. I believe because I choose to believe, and I know for a fact that faith makes people's lives better. And faith makes my life exuberant and endlessly inspires me to live and act. We all live in either in paradigm of faith or post-faith. There is no escape from it, because it is in human nature to believe in things that are not obvious.
There's even a philosophical movement of "anti-realists" - based on what I heard about them, they say that our senses are, most likely, lying to us because evolution prioritized different things over them. Don't quote me on that, I just think that's a curious idea that probably reflects a bit of objective truth - as unreachable as objective truth is. I believe that objective truth can get to us, rather than we get to it.
What is that supposed to mean? Should I elaborate or should I just claim that I'm high on coffee right now?
That's the kind of stuff I used to annoy my friends on ESO with. I wish there was more people that shared my interest to the "arcane" - because, I believe, philosophy is the closest we can get to the "actual arcane". What do I mean by that? Perhaps I'll elaborate later. Should really leave all that for my book. You know, I really wanna signal about how rational I am etc., I guess it's going to be hard if I'm gonna use terms like "arcane".

I should be getting to my training session. The weather is good enough for me to try and do my barbell side presses outside.

    15 july 2020

One arm barbell press
40 kgs*1
50*1
55*1 each
About 5 attempts with 60, then I finally got it with the right - I think that's a small PR, since I've never done it on a thick barbell.
55*1 left - in an extra controlled manner

10 cm pinch block, both hands - really wanted to do something for my grip
50*1
70 attempt
60*1 easy
65 - 2 attempts
60*3 reps - you could say it's a tiny pr as well, since I've not done it for so long.

Then I ran out of my allowed 90 minutes (because I was doing something else during presses) and rushed to do my light squats
40*5
60*5
100*10
100*10

Bodyweight - 107,8 kgs. Wanted to record some vocals as well, but realised I'm actually low on energy and water. I think I might consider doing more "muscle work" for my back tomorrow, instead of just heavy deadlifts. But I definitely will choose to do some variation of BTK deads.

P.S. July 17th - Finally finished soundtrack and released this training montage
